Summary:

This position is within a production environment and is primarily responsible for performing all billing responsibilities required including (but not exclusive to) issuing invoices, resolving billing issues or questions, improving current procedures to increase efficiencies, and reconciling various internal reports to ensure accuracy of billing transactions. The position will complete billing functions for all US Services locations.

Responsibilities:

• Prepares and processes invoices to ensure that all customers are billed accurately, consistently, within customer requirements, and on a timely basis.
• Evaluates current billing operations, recommends, and implements changes in methods and procedures to improve the efficiency of the billing department in a continuous improvement environment.
• Performs daily financial transactions which includes classifying, computing, posting, verifying, and recording accounts receivable data.
• Researches and resolves billing inquiries with external and internal clients.
• Communicates with customer service and shipping to ensure proper cut-off before invoicing.
• Collaborate as necessary with Cook Compression facility and functional leadership
• Submits invoices by email.
• Reports issues, problems, and updates to management.
• Interact professionally across all client groups including: customers, supervisors, employees and executive initiatives.
• Promote a positive atmosphere and encourage teamwork in the workplace, strong communication skills and the ability to develop employees
• Work effectively in a matrix organizational structure
• Assists with special project assignments and financial reporting. Ad hoc invoicing and sales analysis reporting along with other general monthly accounting duties.
• Tasks and duties are varied and complex, are performed under general supervision, and typically require originality and/or ingenuity. Must rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assignments, and have the latitude to adapt procedures, processes, and techniques.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested.
• Willing to have flexible schedule based on customer demand.

Skills:

• Strong communication, problem solving and analytical skills required.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment with high volume of transactions.
• Knowledge of collections, negotiations, settlements and problem resolutions.
• Ability to work independently under time constrains and daily deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word.
• Must have attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers.
• Must possess strong analytical abilities, math skills and statistical analysis skills
• The qualified candidate must be able to troubleshoot and resolve complex accounting issues. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions in written form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Education and Experience:

Prefer associate degree in Accounting/Finance; Undergraduate preferred. 2+ years of billing experience.
