Cilium Tetragon is a flexible, Kubernetes-aware security tool, with real-time observability and enforcement. Leveraging the power of eBPF, Tetragon offers a low-overhead, in kernel solution that enhances security posture by monitoring system behaviors such as process executions, system call activities, and both network and file access events.We are the Cisco Security Innovation team, an agile, startup-style group incubating next-generation network security services. Our team builds highly available distributed systems that power cloud firewalls, Web proxies, Zero Trust Proxies, and inspection services using modern cloud engineering practices. We operate with minimal bureaucracy, focusing on technical excellence and innovation in the SIG and SASE space.

Your Impact

You are an experienced Go developer with deep expertise in distributed systems You'll collaborate with senior leadership to architect, design, and implement high-performance, scalable distributed applications. This is a great opportunity to work alongside some of the brightest minds in the industry, driving the evolution of Cisco's security solutions in a fast-paced, innovation-focused environment. Typical responsibilities include:

• Design and develop distributed applications in Go with a focus on performance, reliability, and security
• Implement and optimize concurrent processing patterns in Go
• Deploy and manage applications in K8 environments
• Collaborate on architecture design and technical requirements
• Work with Git-based workflows for version control and CI/CD
• Contribute to open source projects in our technology stack
• Mentor other engineers on Go standard methodologies and distributed systems patterns

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years developing production ready distributed software applications to include Go programming experience
• Deployment and management of applications in Kubernetes
• Git workflows experience to include branching strategies and code review
• BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related field
• 3+ years of experience with Linux systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ebpf
• Contributions to open source Go projects
• Background in observability tooling and performance monitoring
• A passion for collaboration and innovation
