Overview

This role will assist our welding lead to ensure the welders have all component parts, jigs/fixtures, and other job requirements staged for them outside their cells.

We have several components that are used in a variety of tubes that have to be organized to let the welding team focus on production.

Ideal candidates will have a strong organizational skills and ability to use a forklift and lift fixtures. Inventory background would also be helpful.

Shift: 1st shift Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Friday is OT)



Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

    Component Gathering & Job Preparation
    • Retrieve all required components and materials for each welding job based on job travelers, blueprints, or work orders.
    • Verify part numbers, quantities, and specifications to ensure accuracy before staging.
    • Prepare and organize job packets, including drawings, instructions, and quality checklists.
  1. Staging & Organization
    • Stage parts in designated areas for welders in a logical, efficient sequence to support workflow.
    • Label and tag components clearly to avoid confusion or delays during welding.
    • Maintain a clean and organized staging area to ensure safety and efficiency.
  2. Inventory Coordination
    • Monitor inventory levels of components and raw materials; report shortages or discrepancies.
    • Assist with cycle counts and inventory audits as needed.
    • Return unused or excess materials to inventory with proper documentation.
  3. Material Handling
    • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment to move parts safely.
    • Ensure proper storage of components to prevent damage or loss.
  4. Collaboration & Communication
    • Work closely with welders, supervisors, and inventory control to prioritize jobs and resolve issues.
    • Communicate any missing parts, delays, or quality concerns promptly.

Secondary Responsibilites (potentially) - backup to the weld lead when they take vacation, off, etc..
