Job Summary:
We are looking for a strategic and collaborative leader to join our team as Manager of Operational Excellence. In this role, you will drive operational excellence through robust continuous improvement processes and transformation projects ensuring our products and services consistently meet the highest standards of quality, compliance and efficiency. You will serve as the primary liaison between key customers and internal teams, fostering strong relationships and delivering exceptional customer satisfaction.

This role partners closely with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Continuous Improvement, and Commercial teams to lead continuous improvement initiatives. As a champion of problem-solving and lean methodologies, you will help achieve financial goals and cultivate a culture of continuous and quality improvement across all levels of the plant and departments. You will also serve as a mentor and change agent, empowering teams to embrace innovation and operational excellence.

Job Duties:



  • Lead CI initiatives aligned with corporate strategic goals (OEE, scrap reduction, labor optimization, etc.)
  • Facilitate kaizen events, root cause analysis (RCA), 5S, SMED, TPM, and other lean tools to drive sustainable improvements.
  • Identify waste and inefficiencies across production, maintenance, quality, and supply chain processes.
  • Partner with operations, quality, engineering, and safety teams to improve process capability, reduce variability, and ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and report CI impact.
  • Train and coach frontline employees, supervisors, and managers on CI tools, mindset, and methodologies.
  • Champion a culture of safety, quality, and continuous learning across all levels of the organization.
  • Support capital projects with ROI analysis and process improvements.
  • Ensure standard work practices are developed, implemented, and sustained across all production areas.
  • Stay current with industry best practices and technologies for process improvement.
  • Provide training and coaching to plant personnel on lean tools and problem-solving techniques.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Commercial, and Operations teams to proactively address customer concerns and drive resolution of complaints
  • Support initiatives that improve first time quality, on-time delivery, and responsiveness to customer needs




Qualifications and Experience Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Continuous Improvement, Lean, or Operations within a manufacturing environment; food packaging or metal can industry preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams and implementing CI programs with measurable customer impact.
  • Strong understanding of food safety standards, customer compliance requirements, and manufacturing quality systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving, data analysis, and communication skills.
  • Hands-on leadership style, comfortable on the plant floor and in front of customers.
  • Ability to travel up to approximately 50%



Preferred Qualifications and Skills:



  • Experience in the metal packaging industry
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance.
  • Technical experience and understanding of food and/or beverage can end seaming processes and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong understanding of industrial food filling, cook, and retort processes.
