Essential Job Duties |
This is an internal posting for current NC State permanent employees, and candidates with RIF priority.
The NC State University Libraries seeks an experienced, detail-oriented professional to serve as
Executive Assistant to the Senior Vice Provost and Director of Libraries and the Deputy Director of Libraries. Working at the center of the Libraries' senior administrative team, you'll help drive the success of a world-class academic library system.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage complex calendars, meeting preparation, and high-level correspondence
- Coordinate travel and major events for library leadership
- Review, organize, and synthesize information from diverse sources
- Monitor key initiatives, committees, and operations from an administrative perspective
- Serve as liaison to staff, campus partners, and external contacts
- Apply knowledge of strategic goals, policies, and organizational practices to support decision-making
- Provide back-up support for administrative operations at the Hill and Hunt Libraries

Qualifications
Minimum Experience/Education |
High School diploma or equivalency and three years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience; or graduation with an associate's degree in Secretarial Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline and one year of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience; or bachelor's degree, preferably in Business Administration or a related discipline; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Other Required Qualifications |
- Thorough knowledge of administrative/office management procedures and protocols
- Demonstrated experience using various office and productivity tools, including word processing, email, web browsers and Intranet pages, presentation software, and spreadsheets or databases
- Ability to meet high service standards in all interactions (in-person, by telephone, via e-mail, or online)
- Attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and knowledgeably; ability to represent the Libraries to university and external audiences
- Ability to foster an environment of belonging and well-being
- Ability to work independently, creatively, and collaboratively in a team environment, including the ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities and demands
- Ability to exercise independent judgment in interpreting and explaining policies and procedures
