Job Summary Account Managers are focused on new contract sales, customer relations, collection resolution, project management, and retrofit/upgrade project sales.
Job Responsibilities
- Marketing and sales efforts involve promoting company services and developing new business through strategic outreach and client engagement.
- Customer development and retention focus on building strong relationships, meeting client needs, and encouraging long-term loyalty.
- Estimating and budgeting by preparing accurate cost projections based on labor, materials, and the scope of work.
- Written proposals developed to clearly communicate scope, pricing, and timelines in a professional and persuasive format.
- Planning and scheduling include creating detailed timelines to guide team activities and meet project deadlines.
- Cost control involves monitoring project expenses and implementing adjustments to stay within budget.
- Ensuring quality and performance means upholding standards and verifying that work meets or exceeds expectations.
- Timely invoicing and cash flow management require issuing invoices promptly and following up to ensure on-time payments.
- Warranty administration includes managing post-project issues and ensuring prompt, effective resolution of warranty claims.
- Review and understand contractual scope and project documents (drawings, submittals, equipment operations, and maintenance manuals)
- Ensure quality, performance, and adherence to project requirements, enforcing safety and quality standards
- Promote and uphold McKenney's safety absolutes, best practices, and company culture
- Participate in project planning and execution to maximize SQPCE performance
- Act as a company ambassador by marketing and promoting consistent and excellent project implementation
- Understand, practice, and promote all company values and operational procedures
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED
- 3 years of experience in HVAC or services-related sales
- 5 years of HVAC or Plumbing experience/vocational training.
- Must have basic PC experience in Windows environments, working knowledge of Word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, Web-enabled applications, and database software
Preferred Experience
- HVAC Service experience
- Bachelor's Degree
- HVAC sales and presentation experience

Working Conditions and Physical Efforts
- Work involves moderate exposure to elements, such as hot/cold temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or loud noises.
- The work environment involves some exposure to construction, mechanical, and electrical-related hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
- Moderate physical effort. Requires handling of average weight objects up to 50 pounds and extensive standing and walking.
- Work requires local and occasional out-of-town travel to job sites and customer locations.
- Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and scaffolds, and to negotiate work areas under construction.
