Working for our team, you can truly make a difference. The objective of the Quality Engineer is to develop and implement procedures to maintain and continually improve product and process quality. Be a change agent for process improvement and standardization efforts. Lead efforts to maintain certifications for ISO and Food Safety as well as relevant customer qualifications. Provide support for other Quality and Manufacturing efforts that pertain to customer quality and satisfaction. Why work at MCC:

Responsibilities:
- Develop and continually improve technical knowledge of MCC processes in order to continually improve and problem solve.
- Optimize MCC production processes to assure that quality is built-in, not inspected in.
- Identify and/or design poke yokes and execute installation.
- Support quality initiatives and corrective actions to drive a culture that supports our Quality Statement and helps employees learn and improve.
- Collaborates with other members of organization to improve data collection infrastructure and process for analysis.
- Supports the site quality managers in improvement efforts to establish and enforce an effective Quality Management System (QMS).
- Prepares product and process quality reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Proficient in the Company's Business System Quality Module.
- Achieves Key Performance Indicator (KPI) objectives by helping develop the appropriate production/quality data collection process, collecting data (including nonconformance), and conducting the appropriate analysis to allow for the appropriate continuous improvement strategic plans to be enacted. This includes owning a project or being a part of a team that implements Corrective or Preventative action to ensure the KPIs are met.
- Develop quality control plans (QCP) by identifying critical control points and implementing preventive measures or test methods, understanding machine or material process limits, monitoring production inspection results, and verifying or updating quality procedures.
- Collaborates with other members of the quality organization to share best practices and ensure standardization across business units.
- Monitors the performance of the Quality Management System through data analysis and adherence to standards.
- Works with the site quality managers to achieve overall financial objectives, reduce customer credits by making fiscally responsible business decisions and initiating corrective actions to prevent systemic issues from occurring.
- Serve as the SME (subject matter expert) for the quality data collection system.
- Proficient in the Company's Business System Quality Modules.
- Responsible for the completion of customer specific COAs and data collection when it is part of a customer's requirement (i.e. CBI).
- Training new Quality employees or retraining current employee in the use of all gauges and measurement equipment as it relates to internal and external "fitness for use" critical characteristics.
- Other duties as assigned to advance the mission of the Company.
- Serve as back-up for Corporate Director of Quality.
- Additional responsibilities related to customer quality and to support the overall quality effort as needed.
- Ensure that Food Safety Policies and practices are followed and understood.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- Excellent communication skills to include verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Experience utilizing Problem Solving tools to include FMEA, A3, Cause & Effect (Fishbone), 5 Why, Pareto Charts, Design of Experiment (DOE).
- Excellent working knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience in designing fixtures, equipment and managing capital projects. PLC knowledge is a plus.
- Excellent math and statistical skills.
- Experience with HACCP and GMPs.
- Ability to manage time and work effectively with minimal supervision.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Highly organized, detail oriented, and data driven.
- Capable of assembling a clear and operational document to describe a process, based on the Company's ISO format and training of that procedure.
- Enthusiasm for learning and personal growth.
- Must be willing to work any shift and overtime as warranted.
- Must be willing to travel to support the Company's objectives.
