Description

The Project Manager, Site Projects, is responsible for the overall project management within the Operations team, across the company, and with external stakeholders including partners, contractors, suppliers, and the USG. This role is based on-site in Petersburg, VA with a strong focus on projects and initiatives supporting Phlow's manufacturing campus. This role involves creating/executing project plans, managing contractors and deliverables, developing clear and concise reporting, and communicating to the Director, Site Project Management and other internal and external stakeholders. The role creates value by ensuring projects are well-assessed, executed on time and on budget, and providing transparency and solutions for project risks.

Requirements

  • Support execution of Phlow's operational programs in the areas of Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Product Development and Manufacturing, Engineering, Finance, and Supply Chain
  • Initiate, direct, and lead meetings, prepare reports, maintain project schedules and plans, and drive operational readiness to ensure project deliverables are completed according to desired timelines
  • Prepare and conduct regular program reviews with cross functional teams and executives.
  • Tracking of project specific budgets with functional leads
  • Create and coordinate project schedules and maintainthe process for regular reviews and updates
  • Conduct risk management and scenario planning as well as developing contingency and/or risk mitigation plans.
  • Assist with development of RFPs, FRQs, bid evaluation and bidder selection for procurement of vendors to support various site and facility improvement projects
  • Oversee vendor progress to ensure projects remain on track with high regard for budget and schedule adherence, as well as quality and accuracy.
  • Review vendor and contractor deliverables to ensure alignment with project requirements and coordinate updates with vendors as needed
  • Review vendor invoices to verify alignment with project progress and scope completion and coordinate clarifications and updates with vendors as needed
  • Oversee vendors, consultants and contractors in the execution of construction activities, equipment installation, and other facility upgrades projects on site; identify risks, issues, and assist with remediation plans and/or report up to Director and stakeholders
  • Assist with closeout of projects with vendors, functional leads, and stakeholders
  • Proactively identify, communicate, and/or troubleshoot any issues or problems throughout the project life cycle
  • Assist in the continuous evaluation and improvement of project management execution
  • Oversee project document management and assist in the continuous improvement of the document management system
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience within life sciences industry
  • Strong working knowledge of project management requirements and familiarity with technical and business requirements for pharmaceutical manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of project financial planning requirements, tracking and reporting
  • Knowledge and familiarity with USG procurement , proposal development, vendor evaluation, financial tracking, and project management
  • Experience managing projects/understanding of project management principles
  • Fluency in MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Smartsheet.
  • Knowledge of SharePoint, OneDrive or similar document management systems
  • Demonstrated success as a Project Manager across a variety of disciplines

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or architectural discipline relevant to the life sciences and manufacturing industry
  • PMI certified Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Constantly required to see to utilize computer screens and monitors to perform job duties including reading & writing, as well as when presenting information and communicating with others.
  • Frequently required to talk or hear to communicate with employees, candidates, vendors, and others, including presenting information in front of groups.
  • Frequently required to reach with arms and hands performing repetitive motions and using finger dexterity to work primarily at a computer keyboard and with a mouse.
  • Frequently required to sit, and occasionally required to stand or walk to move around primarily in an office environment.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • This position may require up to 5% travel with occasional increase in travel demands based on business needs
