Check out this NEW Opportunity with Astrion!: Astrion is seeking a Comm and Info Specialist & Project Manager to join our team, supporting our customer on-site at Langley AFB, VA. What you will do
- Provide program management, advice and expertise for communications & information (C&I) initiatives and projects. (e.g., MILCON, FSRM).
- Provide analysis and recommended prioritization for C&I initiatives and projects.
- Articulate the needs of AF's comm sq, advocate on their behalf, and recommend projects, clearly and concisely.
- Coord with stakeholders (e.g., E&I) and participate in teleconferences.
- Validate and prioritization of comm projects (as required, including relevant construction projects) for comm sq facilities.
- Evaluate, document, and brief base C&I plans, initiatives, projects, and alternatives; help determine C&I systems impacts and shortfalls. Evaluate unfunded submissions and apply AF risk mgt matrices to prioritized unfunded needs.
- Analyze CIPS data and provide comms O&M and E&I work plans. Consolidate E&I requirements using the AF E&I Framework mission impact matrix and prioritize future O&M infrastructure requirements for funding approval.
- Provide base comm proj, initiatives, and E&I project status updates; assist customers E&I bed-down requirements in coord with Basing reps and validate comms E&I infrastructure requirements submitted by AF stakeholders for funds
- Coord with staff and other stakeholders (e.g., ANG, TFG, E&I Sq) to identify proper candidates for ANG/TFG workloads and E&I services for bed down of new missions.
- Work closely with base comm sq, CSIs, and staff to implement C&I O&M Infrastructure Work Plan and other projects/initiatives
Education requirements and skills you need
- Bachelor's degree in IT related field required OR 5 years directly relevant experience (ending within the last five years) in addition to and to include the experience as listed below in lieu of degree.
- Minimum of 1-year relevant experience to include:
- Experience working with/on higher headquarters staff.
- Demonstrate ability to address/converse with and brief General Officers and Senior Civilians and experience demonstrating PM skills, ending within the last five years.
- Must have an active and transferable DoD Secret security clearance. Must be able to maintain the required clearance.
