Now, we're entering a new phase of growth and are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Technical Writer to support the creation, maintenance, and delivery of high-quality technical documentation. You will work alongside engineers, product teams, and senior writers to develop user manuals, installation guides, and other supporting materials. This role will involve hands-on use of XML and AsciiDoc authoring environments, with collaboration and project tracking managed through tools like JIRA, Slack, and SharePoint.

What You'll Do


  • Create, edit, and format user documentation, installation manuals, and internal procedures using AsciiDoc and XML.
  • Use Visual Studio Code as the primary writing and editing environment, maintaining structure and syntax integrity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams through Slack and attend Agile sprint meetings tracked via JIRA.
  • Participate in content reviews and feedback cycles using GitLab for version control, merge requests, and issue tracking.
  • Store and manage controlled documents in SharePoint, ensuring accessibility and version accuracy.
  • Assist in creating and refining technical graphics, renderings, and visual assets using KeyShot to support product documentation.
  • Adhere to internal style guides, branding standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., ITAR/CUI, if applicable).
  • Track and update documentation change requests and ensure the timely release of revised materials.


Requirements


  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, Engineering, or related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a technical writing or documentation role (internships accepted).
  • Familiarity with XML and AsciiDoc markup languages.
  • Proficiency in using Visual Studio Code and GitLab for editing and source control.
  • Working knowledge of JIRA, Slack, and SharePoint.
  • Exposure to technical illustration or 3D rendering tools such as KeyShot (a plus).
  • Strong attention to detail and an ability to learn complex technical concepts quickly.
  • Ability to follow documentation standards and style guides.


Preferred


  • Experience with structured authoring or component content management systems (CCMS).
  • Understanding of technical documentation standards and compliance requirements (e.g., MIL-STD or ITAR/CUI).
  • Exposure to Agile development environments.
  • Basic understanding of software, mechanical, or electrical systems.


Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, climb, and move about regularly throughout the day and lift / carry up to 25 pounds. Must have manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment. Must be physically capable of the assigned duties.

Work Environment

This position typically operates in a standard office setting and manufacturing environment. This role requires use of standard office equipment and may require occasional travel to customer locations or facilities. This position may have exposure to outdoor weather conditions, noise, and non-climate-controlled environments. May require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) depending on the environment. This is a fast-paced work environment and requires cross departmental collaboration with independent and team-based responsibilities. Standard works hours for this position are 8:30am-5:00pm with occasional overtime as operational needs demand.

ITAR Requirement

In compliance with International Traffic Arms Regulations (ITAR), candidates must be U.S. Citizens, U.S. Permanent Residents (Green Card holders) or individuals granted asylee/refugee status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
