Schedule: 5 on / 5 off followed by 4 on / 4 off - 12 hr rotating schedule


Description:

  • Operate, control and monitor vital process control systems in areas like plant settings, onshore and offshore natural gas processing facilities, pumping stations and other pipeline facilities, distribution terminals, storage and offshore production facilities. Requires 0-3 years experience.
  • The primary intent of this role is to continue to provide incumbents with increasingly challenging assignments and further develop knowledge/experience of the company, trades tasks, methods and practices. The incumbent has sound technical understanding of basic or routine elements of the job. Time is primarily spent within defined area, may demonstrate significant depth of knowledge but within a limited scope.
  • Receives direction from Coordinator/Supervisor. The level of direction and supervision needed decreases as the incumbent takes on more complex tasks. At minimum, completed all core technical training requirements.
  • In the United States, completed all applicable Operator Qualification (OQ) requirements For employees under a formal apprenticeship program, this represents apprentice levels 2 to 4.
  • This role is expected to work with significant independence on standard assignments. As well, the role may be required to assist with more complex tasks requiring guidance by Coordinator/Supervisor. Must demonstrate a detailed understanding of Safety Policies and Procedures and act in accordance with them at all times. Learns the operation of more complex equipment and procedures. May participate in design reviews. Ensures that all pertinent records are accurate, current and that preventative maintenance schedules are timely. Judgment required in assessing that a situation is safe to perform the work required and the most effective way of carrying out the work.
  • Communication is verbal and written and typically consists of the collection and relay of basic facts. The content of communication increases in complexity as the incumbents takes on more complex tasks. No formal supervision exercised by this position, however, role may be required to provide basic guidance to contractors or less experienced employees. As the role takes on greater technical challenges the impact to the immediate work area increases. Technical work that may have a direct impact on safety or operational reliability will be closely reviewed.
  • High School Diploma and typically 2 years of directly relevant training and experience required.
