ABOUT THIS ROLE

St. Michael's is seeking candidate for a Federal Financial Closing Accountant position to support an Intelligence Community (IC) client. As the Federal Financial Closing Accountant, you will work as part of a team responsible for closing out the General Ledger entries for the client financial records. You will be in a client-facing role that will benefit from your previous auditing and bookkeeping experience and expertise, especially regarding financial system closeout procedures. WHO YOU ARE



  • Active Top-Secret SCI with CI Poly
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher.
  • 5 or more years of Federal Accounting Experience.
  • Experience with FACTS (PeopleSoft) federal programs and detailed knowledge of the USSGL, specifically relating to direct and reimbursable funding and relationships between proprietary and budgetary accounts.
  • Experience with Treasury Financial Manual (TFM) for year-end pre and post-closing activities.
  • Experience supporting customers in the Intelligence Community (IC).


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Build custom queries, analyzing entry events, and reviewing EERT/PART entries for posting and have knowledge of relationships and reconciliation experience required for all sub-modules to GL.
  • Conduct reviews and analysis of: Commitment Control to General Ledger reconciliations, Tie Point outages, and Identifying root causes of outages and reconciling items.
  • Ensure all prior month JVs are reversed, all data is processed from feeder systems, and all JVs in error have been resolved and posted to the GL.
  • Support and document month end closing process, including JV Posting, TB Reconciliations, and data calls.
  • Assist with PBC audit requests related to financial documentation and Process Cycle Memos (PCMs).
  • Prepare accurate daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly JV entries using appropriate USSGL accounts.


COMPENSATION:As required by applicable law, St. Michael's Inc. provides reasonable pay ranges for positions based on labor market conditions in locations where compensation transparency is required. The base pay range for this position is $140,000 to $170,000. Final compensation may vary depending on geographic location, relevant skills, experience, and other job-related factors. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, based on company and individual performance.

This position is in support of an expansion of our existing contract, reflecting our continued growth and trusted partnership with the client.
