Job Summary The Director of Corporate Strategy serves as a strategic advisor and internal consultant, responsible for driving enterprise-wide initiatives, evaluating investment opportunities, and accelerating strategic execution. This role blends structured problem-solving, cross-functional facilitation, and analytical rigor to support executive decision-making and long-term value creation. Principle Duties and Responsibilities Strategic Development & Internal Consulting
Collaborate with senior leadership to define and refine strategic priorities Lead strategic problem-solving engagements: diagnose challenges, design/facilitate workshops, and deliver actionable recommendations. Develop and deploy strategic frameworks and tools; train teams to build internal capability. Act as a neutral facilitator across departments to align stakeholders and accelerate decision-making. Provide analytical support and market intelligence to inform strategic decisions and opportunity assessments. Support the Strategic Leadership Development Program by contributing to content and facilitation.
Strategy & Investment Planning
Identify and evaluate M&A prospects aligned with enterprise strategy. Build investment theses, assess market runway, and evaluate strategic fit. Analyze value drivers, synergy opportunities, and scalability. Partner with the UFP Market Intelligence (MI) group and external advisors to conduct opportunity analysis and due diligence. Lead or support risk assessments, financial rationale, and integration-focused execution plans that drive scale and synergy opportunities. Recommend buy/build/partner strategies based on strategic fit and value creation potential. Lead the post-merger business activities for M&A investments
Initiative Acceleration
Lead or support high-priority strategic initiatives from concept through execution. Ensure alignment with enterprise goals, track progress, and drive accountability.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field; MBA preferred. 5-10 years of experience in strategy design consulting, investment banking, corporate strategy, or M&A. Strong analytical and financial skills. Proven experience facilitating cross-functional workshops and strategic planning sessions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels. Experience in a publicly traded company or regulated industry, preferred.
