POSITION SUMMARY: Liaison between production and Company support groups. Position is responsible for performing duties within the purchasing function and supplier development.



PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The duties and responsibilities regularly performed for this position are:




  • Processing of purchase orders (stock and non-stock items).
  • Select and/or recommend vendors based on contracts or corporate agreements.
  • Follow up with vendors on order status and delivery dates.
  • Administrative duties to support SIOP and Operations Management and Accounting Dept.
  • Review and/or investigate pricing errors.
  • Coordinate purchasing activity with production and other departments to ensure timely fulfillment of material and service requirements in support of the enterprise.
  • Prepare or assist with the preparation of requests for quotes to suppliers.
  • Enters purchasing data into various systems efficiently and timely.
  • Prepares and distributes purchase orders/purchase order change notices and maintain accurate files.
  • Monitors scheduled receipts to ensure material is not delivered earlier than required.
  • Regulates supplier performance and performs timely updates to shortage reports.
  • General department housekeeping.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Adhere to and promote Corporate Code of Ethical Standards.
  • Ensures compliance with Company quality requirements.
  • Promote 5s activities.


  • Processing of special reports.
  • Performing other tasks in the facility, as needed.
  • Back up for Shipping/Receiving during peak demand.




EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:


The specific EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE requirements of this position are:



  • Associates Degree required; Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain Management preferred or equivalent Business Degree
  • Four (4) years previous related job experience necessary - preferably in an aerospace manufacturing or overhaul environment

  • Able to read/write in English
  • Knowledge of purchasing processes, practices
  • Knowledge of inventory management systems
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Strong computer skills
