Sr. Financial Analyst The Sr. Financial Analyst - Supply Chain is responsible for managing data and providing core insights into supply chain costs, specifically related to transportation and warehousing. This position interfaces daily with the Directors/VPs of Finance and Supply Chain to ensure proper allocations and financial impacts are captured to reflect business strategies. This position will ensure timely and accurate data is available to support teams in financial analytics as relation to supply chain costs, month end analysis, as well as provide insights on trend and scenario modeling. This position also requires strong communication in presenting findings and proposing enhanced allocation and data logic and methodologies.

Essential Functions

  • Maintain large data sets for supply chain costs and allocations; primarily leveraged for month end close and financial analysis
  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain weekly and monthly financial reports that provide management with information used for decision-making.
  • Prepare and coordinate monthly variance analysis of actuals, plans and forecasts.
  • Provide financial expertise, analysis, and guidance in direct support of the company's leadership team collaborating with team members at all levels of the company.
  • Develop financial and data models to aid in better understanding overall financial performance and value creation.
  • Maintain various management reporting models to assist leadership in analyzing results of operations for all supply chain metrics as well as impact to the business.
  • Support the supply chain team with regular financial reporting and metrics, as well as ad-hoc financial analysis as needed.
  • Identify trends and recommend actions based on accurate and thorough analysis
  • Liaise across multiple departments on projects and to resolve issue
  • Monitor direct and indirect spend to ensure it is consistent with current company strategy
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) reviews focusing on (i) validating assumptions for identified cost-savings opportunities (ii) monitoring implementation progress of agreed-upon actions and (iii) tracking impact
  • Work with financial and data analysts to drive automation and data accuracy
  • Assist in annual budget process including budget modeling and actual vs forecast analysis
  • Investigate and explain variances or unexpected results.

  • Develops relationships cross functionally with key stakeholders - Manufacturing, Finance and Accounting, Supply Chain, Engineering, IT
  • Work closely with other financial cost bucket teams in standardization of data sets and inputs required to maintain data accuracy and timely delivery
  • Works with leadership to develop team goals and KPIs that are leveraged to manage business and department strategies
  • Present findings and proposals for cost saving and business opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • 4 Years - Experience working in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Finance
    • 4 Years - Experience in Position
    • 0 Years - Experience managing people/projects

Competencies

  • Advanced experience with coding in Python, R, or comparable tools is required to manage massive data sets
  • Advanced MS Excel skills (Pivot tables, Vlookup, Sumif, etc.)
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly interpret and convey complex financial data to cross-functional teams and senior leaders
  • Written Communication - writes clearly and informatively; presents numerical data effectively; able to read and interpret written information from a variety of levels and technical proficiencies.

  • Previous experience with month end closing and budget planning preferred
  • Understanding of Supply Chain cost structures, variance analysis, and cost drivers preferred
  • Understanding of Financial statements, revenue, cost and margin preferred
  • Experience with data visualization tools - Power BI or comparable preferred

Education

  • Minimum Required:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, Data Science, or related field
  • Preferred:
    • MBA in Business, Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, Data Science or related field
    • CPA (inactive or active)

Certification/License:

  • Required: None Required
  • Preferred: CPA, APICS CPIM/CSCP, PMP PMI

Technical Skills:

  • Required: Excel, Coding language (R)/Python
  • Preferred: Knowledge with Alteryx, PowerBI, Tableau, other data visualization tools
