HX5 is currently seeking a well qualified Remedy Software Developer to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. This role encompasses full-stack development responsibilities with a focus on the Kinetic platform, supporting complete application lifecycle management from development through operations and maintenance. The ideal candidate will have strong web development skills and experience with modern technologies while contributing to business process automation and system optimization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performing comprehensive application development supporting total lifecycle management and operations utilizing the
Kinetic platform. - Planning, testing, and implementing major system upgrades to ensure platform currency and enhanced functionality.
- Performing local customizations and system enhancements to meet specific business requirements.
- Building and maintaining BMC Remedy Helix ITSM templates and configurations.
- Supporting various application technologies with a primary focus on web development.
- Working with a modern technology stack including React, Tomcat, HTML, JavaScript/jQuery, Ruby, Node.js, REST APIs,
and PostgreSQL. - Developing and maintaining web-based applications that integrate seamlessly with existing systems.
- Collaborating with experienced software engineers to automate business processes and perform Operations and Maintenance (O&M) on existing applications.
- Conducting daily system checks and application configurations to ensure optimal performance.
- Managing vendor updates and responding promptly to customer requests.
- Ensuring security best practices and maintaining compliance with Information Assurance standards.
- Interfacing with cross-functional team members to ensure cross-platform compatibility and standardization.
- De-conflicting competing requests and requirements to optimize resource allocation.
- Coordinating with stakeholders to prioritize development initiatives and system enhancements.
- Establishing, maintaining, and following documented processes and procedures.
- Ensuring adherence to development standards and best practices.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and knowledge sharing.
- Performing additional duties as required to support organizational objectives.

Salary Information: This position is expected to pay $105,000 - $120,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certificationsthat are directly related to the position.
Education andExperience:
- Must have 6, or more, years of general (full-time) work experience
- Must have 3, or more, years of directly related experience as a Software Developer
- Must have experience with Kinetic platform development and administration.
- Must be proficient in web development technologies: React, JavaScript/jQuery, HTML, Node.js.
- Must have knowledge of backend technologies: Ruby, REST APIs, PostgreSQL, Tomcat.
- Must have experience with BMC Remedy Helix ITSM systems.
- Must have a strong understanding of application lifecycle management.
- Must have experience with security best practices and compliance standards.
- Must have excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Be willing to work late-night maintenance windows to support patching and system updates.
- Must have, or obtain within 90 days of start, a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (ex: Security+)
- Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week and offers a flexible work schedule Monday through Friday during core business hours. It will require off-hours and weekend on-site support during mission/test events. Travel required (approximately 10% of the average year). Tele-work is available for brief periods, but on-site support is required for all mission and test events.
Other Position Requirements:
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
- Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance by date of hire.
- Must be able to travel, including air travel.
- Must have a valid Drivers License.
