Overview

This is a remote role that may be hired in several markets across the United States.

First Citizens Bank is looking for a Senior Cyber Security Business Planning & Support Consultant to provide direction, oversight and transformational improvements to the Bank's Cybersecurity Risk-Based Strategic Plan and initiative (project and BAU) intake efforts. This will be an important role within First Citizen's Enterprise Cyber Security Office (ECSO) and will support the ECSO Strategy, Execution, and Enablement (SEE) team, which is responsible for developing the enterprise cybersecurity strategy and overseeing and enabling the execution of that strategy. This individual contributor/Team Leader role (non-people manager) will be responsible for developing and enabling business critical functions like strategic planning and coordination with enterprise and technology roadmaps, communications, executive reporting, and automation.


Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership - Owns, drives and leads special projects, serving as a resource to the business unit or organization in addition to mentoring associate team, overseeing resource and financial management, and handling complex issues in support of daily workflow. Utilizes expertise to provide guidance, feedback, and direction on complex matters. Aids in the communication of performance results and expected behaviors.
  • Portfolio Management Oversight - Supports portfolio management function, serving as a resource to the business unit or organization. Utilizes expertise to provide guidance, feedback, and direction on complex matters. Aids in the communication of performance results and expected behaviors. Creates specifications, project plans, and other documentation in support of business initiatives. Serves as liaison between portfolio management teams, business owners, vendors, and third-party integrators. May oversee daily workflow of portfolio management team.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation - monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the FCB risk-based cybersecurity annual strategic roadmap and plans
  • Track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and report on progress.
  • Identify areas for improvement and execute necessary adjustments.
  • Coordinate with Governance, Risk and Compliance partners and ensure resolution of defects.
  • Risk-based Cybersecurity Strategy - supports the execution of the enterprise risk-based cyber security strategy by delivering tactical solutions to processes with a bias towards efficiency, automation, and cost savings.
  • Evaluates current plans, processes, and requirements to identify factors negatively affecting cybersecurity. Develops and recommends expert strategies and solutions to address identified issues and leads coordinated business efforts to achieve success. Provides focused execution of project requirements and organizing resources around the mission/intent of the project requirements, goals, and objectives. Creates, implements, and manages internal communications plan to support business initiatives.
  • Strategic analysis, planning, and implementation of business process enhancements and improvements required to drive scale and meet FCB's objectives including the development of a cross-functional strategic data feed to include Risk Assessment and Threat Landscape, Regulatory & Compliance expectations, and Enterprise & Market Risk Management.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify opportunities, risks, and threats. Work with Strategic Intelligence to incorporate appropriate responses in the annual strategic planning process.
  • Work directly with leadership, team leaders, internal business partners and stakeholders to project manage, implement business processes and initiatives along with resource and financial management that will enable cybersecurity to increase and enhance efficiencies, while satisfying financial, regulatory, and compliance reporting requirements.
  • Support and lead business enabling initiatives. Utilizes expertise to provide guidance, feedback, and direction on complex matters. Aids in the communication of performance results and expected behaviors.
  • Develop and maintain strategic planning templates and communication materials.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify opportunities, risks, and threats. Work with Strategic Intelligence to incorporate appropriate responses in the annual strategic planning process.
  • Executive Reporting & Data Analysis - Produces reports based on analysis, industry trends, and process capabilities. Identifies patterns, problems, and areas of improvement, and tracks effectiveness of implemented enhancements. Creates specifications, action plans, and other documentation in support of business initiatives. Sources, compiles, and interprets data. Performs data analysis, effectively communicates and providing analysis output. Utilizes key metrics to analyze, track, and report on strategy execution impact and performance. Ensures all changes are clearly recorded and evaluated.

  • Cyber Strategy Communications - consults on and develops internal communications that convey the bank's cybersecurity strategy. Develops, edits, and designs communications to enable the cyber risk-based strategic approach and business enabling functions such as initiative intake process, vendor management, workforce management (including hiring governance and capacity planning), and financial variance analysis.
  • Serves as a key partner to strategic projects by creating and managing communications plans that ensure concise, timely, and effective communication to associates.
  • Facilitates effective collaboration across departments and integration of the Bank's cybersecurity strategy by communicating long-term strategies to stakeholders.
  • Business Enablement Automation - drives plans, processes, and requirements that support the enterprise risk-based cyber security strategy by enabling key business enabling functions with a strong bias towards automation.
  • Performance optimization - analyze data and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency and operational reliability.
  • Research and evaluate various automation tools and technologies based on strategic needs and goals.
  • Design and implement automated strategic solutions leveraging Jira, Confluence, Tableau, PowerBI and other tools, as necessary.
  • Associate Engagement Lead - support business planning and operational initiatives, with a focus on driving organizational effectiveness and employee engagement. Responsibilities may include leading the strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of associate engagement efforts including recognition programs, pulse surveys, and rewards program. This role partners with HR and communications to ensure engagement initiatives align with company values and enhance culture, morale, and performance.
  • Relationship Building - Build strong relationships with all levels of the organization, external stakeholders, and partners to execute the cyber security strategy.
  • Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and centralized enterprise functions including Global Finance Office, Enterprise Project Office, Enterprise Change Management, Sourcing/Procurement, Enterprise Strategy, Enterprise & Technology Strategic Roadmaps, Human Resources, and Enterprise Risk Management.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand requirements and recommend solutions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience in Business Strategy, Project Planning, and Financial Services industry OR High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of experience in Business Strategy, Project Planning, and Financial Services industry

The base pay for this position is generally between $128,000 and $195,000. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
