Position Highlights |
The position works in collaboration with the Drachman Institute to advance community-centered design, research, and housing initiatives. Responsibilities include coordinating daily operations, mentoring students, guiding project design, developing graphic materials, preparing award submissions, and facilitating the Drachman Community Engaged Scholars program. Duties & Responsibilities |
- Coordinate with the Drachman Institute
- Support day-to-day activities
- Support application of design and community awards for Drachman Institute projects
- Develop Drachman graphic materials and an anthology of past projects
- Organize events for the Drachman Institute
- Provide undergraduate and graduate student mentoring through project development
- Offer architectural project design guidance and oversight
- Research building technologies and culturally appropriate design strategies for built environment resiliency
- Prepare project packages for awards and publication
- Contribute to housing projects with the City and community partners
- Facilitate Drachman Community Engaged Scholars program
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to compose an architectural design publication
- Ability to do grant research
- Advanced ability in technical writing, creative writing, and editing
- Ability to use project management tools and methodologies

Minimum Qualifications |
- Bachelor's in Architecture degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
- At least 1 year of relevant work experience may be required.
|
Preferred Qualifications |
- Proficiency using digital and physical architectural modeling tools and methodologies (including building physical models and prototypes, and digital tools including at a minimum Revit, AutoCad, Rhino, Grasshopper and Honeybee)
- experience in researching and designing with climate resilient and context-appropriate building technologies
- experience with architectural design research
- experience with community-driven and culturally-appropriate design methodologies

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses.Thesereports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims. As a campus with residential housing facilities, the Main Campus ASR also includes a combined Annual Fire Safety report with information on fire statistics and fire safety systems, policies, and procedures.
