Summary The Project Manager will utilize a learned knowledge of CMS policy and regulatory program requirements to develop and manage actions which drive optimal Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) performance. This position leads and collaborates on annual CMS regulatory program methodologies and updates, as well as ensures annual MIPS submission requirements are met within the given deadlines. Collaborates with existing system partners across UNCH, as well as with any applicable new partnerships to complete data collection, needs assessments, and policy requirements in relation to MIPS work, with a strong emphasis on leveraging Epic EHR data to improve quality performance. Independently oversees day-to-day operational activities of the MIPS program, including management of policy initiatives, data analysis (when needed) and strategy. Closes out new MIPS administrative needs in a timely and professional manner, handing off needs and actions to key stakeholders and other operational units for ongoing management. Follows through on regulatory program scope, goals, and deliverables that support UNC Health strategy and mission. Key responsibilities include project and program administration, analysis and management, communicating effectively at all levels of the organization and a natural curiosity to continuously identify areas of opportunity for improvement. Roles & Responsibilities * Requires thorough research and learned knowledge of CMS' Quality Payment Program, including annual policy updates and program changes. * Plans, coordinates and gathers key information tied to 4 components of the program (Quality, Promoting Interoperability, Improvement Activities & Cost) to develop and execute needed processes & procedures to ensure successful annual submissions. * Collaborates with system and practice entity colleagues to assess opportunities to improve performance and manage MIPS risk * Engages with internal and external stakeholders, including vendor, to aid with data research & validation, as well as ensuring proper measure performance validation and troubleshooting clinical data mapping and extractions. * Maintain strong working knowledge of MIPS submission pathways, measure specifications, standard data elements for quality measures, and performance benchmarks. * Meets regularly with practice leaders to effectively communicate performance data and expectations, and elicits support that results in improved program performance. * Stay current on CMS regulations, including digital quality measure (dQM) requirements, and future interoperability initiatives (e.g., TEFCA, FHIR APIs) and communicates policy updates to key stakeholders * Works closely with Manager of Government Compliance and Medical Director regarding annual measure strategy and selection Preferred Experience * Two (2) years of experience in one of the following: health care regulatory policy (preferably Medicare), provider quality performance and reporting or value-based care. Experience should include researching and summarizing policy requirements, tracking and reporting outcomes, project management and/or qualitative analytical skills. Direct experience with the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) or similar value-based programs is ideal * Familiarity and experience working with EMR interoperability requirements tied to value-based programs, interfacing with information technology teams regarding measure specifications & workflows and liaising with clinical leadership for operational improvements is highly desired. * Strong knowledge of project tracking and management, with emphasis on Excel Other Information Other information: Job Details Legal Employer: NCHEALTH Entity: Health Alliance Organization Unit: Rex Community Physicians Work Type: Full Time Standard Hours Per Week: 40.00 Salary Range:$35.52 - $51.05 per hour (Hiring Range) Pay offers are determined by experience and internal equity Work Assignment Type: Hybrid Work Schedule: Day Job Location of Job: US:NC:Morrisville Exempt From Overtime: Exempt: Yes This position is employed by NC Health (Rex Healthcare, Inc., d/b/a NC Health), a private, fully-owned subsidiary of UNC Heath Care System.
