JOB MISSION:

This position manages the technology infrastructure for NB Development Group LLC. The primary focus will be the TRACK at New Balance, but attention will be needed at Warrior Ice Arena, the main office at 221 North Beacon Street and NB Fitness Club. The Technology Manager must facilitate effective and efficient use of the above locations for staff operations, athletes, visitors, and external clients. The role blends advanced technical experience with operational tasks and is responsible for the day-to-day management of cybersecure facility networks, video broadcasting, desktop support, VOIP services, LED videowalls, digital signage, lighting control and in-house audio systems, again with the primary focus on the TRACK.

While maintaining essential IT and AV operating systems, security tools and applications, the Technology Manager will ensure current network components work together seamlessly to meet business needs. They will analyze systems and assets and recommend and implement solutions and upgrades. The Technology Manager will assist TRACK event staff with basic trainings in software and hardware use and troubleshoot issues and provide technical support when needed. They will interact with external clients, athletes, visitors and 3rd party vendors with the utmost professional attitude and will manage all Service License Agreements as a liaison to all 3rd party service providers. Due to the nature of events, the Technology Manager shall have a flexible schedule and ensure a level of availability 7 days a week, without exceeding normal working hours.

The Technology Manager reports directly to the General Manager.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Technology Systems: Oversees and maintains the daily technical aspects of the following systems: Facility LAN, Internet Service Provider, Cybersecurity, and Audio and Video Systems.

  • Operations: Provides basic troubleshooting of technology-related outages; Liaise with event staff and external organizers for the tech needs; Assigns network access as needed/requested; Provides basic physical network cabling assistance. Contributes as part of the TRACK's operations team for building conversions as needed.

  • Management: Assists with basic staff computer support; Manages VOIP service: Manages all Service License Agreements and 3rd party vendor support services.

  • Logistics and Planning: Catalogs and inventories all tech equipment and assesses end of life replacements; Assists with budget forecasting for license renewals, service contracts and capital equipment purchases; Evaluates all service providers.

  • Carry out additional job-related duties as directed and assigned.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:

  • Possess a four-year Engineering degree or equivalent combination of education and related work experience in IT or engineering related major.

  • 10+ years Technology industry professional experience.

  • Hands-on experience with building technologies as described within this role would be beneficial.

  • Certification in IT network design and/or system administration.

  • Demonstrate leadership skills in managing the technology field.

  • Ability to operate in the events industry.

  • Ability to work a flexible, in-person/on-site schedule including nights, weekends and some holidays

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

  • Physical dexterity and ability to move up to 50-100lbs

  • Able to work cross-functionally with operations, events, marketing, and external vendors.

  • Comfortable translating technical concepts into plain language for non-technical stakeholders.
