We are seeking an Associate Director to join the leadership team of the Analog and Power Systems Department (APSD). The department includes engineers across analog circuit design, modeling, test and evaluation in addition to spacecraft level modeling, test, and launch support as part of a multidiscipline team. APSD's main functions are: conceptual design up to and including launch support, independent direct anomaly resolution support for prime contractor flight hardware anomalies on both satellite and launch vehicle systems, and missile program support throughout the electronic hardware development cycle. As an Associate Director, you will lead a team that provides analog and power systems hardware modeling, simulation, analysis, test and evaluation of spacecraft and launch vehicles. We support a variety of customers with multifaceted program portfolios, and we are looking for curious and innovative teammates to help us address our customers' hardest problems!

This position is onsite at Aerospace's El Segundo location

What You'll Be Doing

  • Provide leadership to a team dedicated to providing technical expertise in support of power systems architecture development, assessment, and problem solving.

  • Advance department expertise in 1) advanced methodologies for hardware development, simulation, and troubleshooting; 2) end-to-end, analog electronics engineering

  • Implement high-impact strategies that exceed customer needs, foster innovation, and deliver transformative solutions

  • Drive the future of the department by developing top engineering talent and expanding technical capabilities to ensure the team stays ahead of advancements

  • Identify and capture new business opportunities that position the organization as an industry leader

  • Build and lead high-impact cross-functional teams, aligning expertise with project needs and driving collaborative solutions

  • Partner with fellow directors in the Mission Payloads Division to shape a cohesive team strategy, align technical efforts, and share best practices

  • Oversee and optimize budgets to ensure efficient resource allocation, cost-effectiveness, and operational excellence

  • Cultivate a high-performing team by setting clear expectations, providing continuous feedback, and fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and professional growth.

What You Need to be Successful - Associate Director

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field

  • 10 years of progressively more responsible engineering experience.

  • Technical understanding of power systems, analog electronic circuit design, analysis, PCB layout and fabrication, electronic circuit test and evaluation

  • Ability to form and lead highly productive intra- and inter- organizational teams, and prioritize and delegate tasking

  • Commitment to maintaining a customer-focused approach, navigating challenges with creativity and collaboration, and communicating clearly and effectively across various formats and audiences.

  • Current Top Secret / SCI Clearance.

How You Can Stand Out

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:

  • An advanced degree in a STEM-related field

  • 12+ years of experience in Power Systems or analog circuit design, test and evaluation

  • Expertise with any of the following: spacecraft and launch vehicle common power supply designs, or power systems engineering and spacecraft system level analyses, and knowledge of common power buses of existing customers / contractors, or analog circuit / power supply troubleshooting techniques, or analog circuit design, modeling, and simulation

  • Knowledge of Intelligence Community, U.S. Department of Defense, and Department of the Space Force business practices, programs, and common bus architectures.

  • Prior experience managing high-performing technical teams

  • Proven ability to grow and maintain a healthy organizational culture and foster a supportive, collaborative environment.

  • Current Top Secret/SCI Clearance with polygraph and SAP access

We offer a competitive compensation package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business. The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
