Position Description Summary:

Responsible for providing and maintaining effective traffic air or ocean shipments coordination nationwide with vendors and company offices. Provide information to resolve customer shipment related problems. Monitor the daily flow of customer purchase orders. Assist management with document preparation, status purchase order and traffic activity reports.

Principal Accountabilities (The following is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. It is not an exhaustive list of all expectations.):



  1. Provide work direction and leadership in associated job duties, processes, and company policies and procedures
  2. Assist management with requests and requirements pertaining to pick-up and delivery, tracing shipments, rate quotes, and special handling. Responsible for coordination of crating, picks, bookings, pre-alerts, and closed communication between customer and network agents
  3. Assist management with problem and issue resolution
  4. Follow up with customers to resolve invoice problems and discrepancies
  5. Communicate with customers, coworkers, and other departments to facilitate the movement of freight and associated paperwork that require special handling
  6. Audit Ocean Bill of Lading for completeness and accuracy making sure ocean rate request has been submitted to FMC for filing. Maintain FMC for filing and FMC Tariff Book
  7. Assist air freight agents on preparation of air way bill and close on board coordination confirmation with carriers according to company policies, procedures, and processes



The individual in this position must be capable of performing all of the essential functions with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Working Environment:

Assignment Complexity - Work on assignments that are moderately complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations.

Accountability - Apply job skills and applicable corporate policies and procedures to complete a wide range of difficult tasks.

Impact of Decisions - Errors detectable upon supervisory review. Limited impact on corporate operations and fiscal health.

Working Relationships - Regularly interact with peers and management concerning matters of moderately complex scope and discretion.

Scope - Work on problems moderately complex in scope. Normally receives no instruction on routine work, general instructions on new assignments.

Essential Functions:

Must be able to pass any federal/state/local government, airport, or company-required background checks, clearances, and/or drug and alcohol tests.

Knowledge and Skills (The following minimum requirements are normal guidelines and should not constrain the advancement of otherwise qualified personnel):

This is an intermediate level position. Good interpersonal skills required. High school diploma or equivalent required. Generally prefer 2-4 years of experience.
