We are seeking a Director of Internal Communications, Content & Channels to lead the strategic development, management, and optimization of JLL's enterprise-wide internal communications channels and content.

This leadership role will ensure colleagues across JLL globally receive timely, engaging, and relevant news and information through a multi-channel approach that brings JLL's brand, purpose, culture, and values to life-positioning JLL as an employer of choice and the world's leading corporate real estate services provider. The role will manage a team of two direct reports and work collaboratively with stakeholders across Marketing, Communications, Technology, and the broader JLL organization.

Success in this role requires a dynamic and results-driven communications professional with strong experience developing and leading internal communications channels, platforms, and content strategies in large, global organizations-driving employee engagement and supporting business outcomes.

This role reports to the Senior Director, Internal Communications. It can be based in either Chicago or London.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive content and channels strategy aligned with the broader enterprise-wide internal communications strategy and objectives.
  • Create and manage an editorial plan to ensure enterprise-wide news and content is planned and coordinated across all channels.
  • Design and lead delivery of plans and initiatives to enhance internal communication channel effectiveness and adoption.

Channel Management:

  • Manage all enterprise-wide internal communications channels and platforms, ensuring consistent messaging and maximum effectiveness.
  • Work in partnership with Technology to evolve and optimize internal channels and platforms, recommending improvements and new technologies as needed.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and advisor, educating colleagues on channel best practices to enable consistent and impactful communication across JLL.
  • Maintain, and where required, improve channel governance and manage channel-related issues.
  • Oversee the governance, effectiveness, and optimization of internal communications channels.

Content Leadership:

  • Lead the delivery of an impactful, enterprise-wide program of news and content through multiple channels to bring JLL's strategy, culture, and business priorities to life for all colleagues.
  • Manage and partner with a network of content contributors and stakeholders from across the enterprise to source and develop content and stories.
  • Maintain and evolve content standards, tone of voice, and messaging frameworks for all enterprise-wide internal communications.
  • Provide guidance and support to communications colleagues on content quality, storytelling, and best practices.

Measurement & optimization

  • Work in partnership with internal communications measurement SMEs to measure, analyse, and report on the effectiveness of communications channels, tactics, and content.
  • Leverage data and insights to drive ongoing improvements in channel effectiveness, content quality, user engagement, and audience experience.

Team leadership:

  • Lead, motivate, and develop a team of two direct reports, fostering a high-performing, collaborative, and inclusive team culture.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and professional development opportunities to support growth and excellence within the team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (English, Journalism, Communications, Public Relations).
  • 10+ years of internal communications experience, with proven ability to develop and implement internal communications content and multi-channel strategies within complex, matrixed environments.
  • Strategic planning skills, with the ability to balance long-term vision with hands-on day-to-day delivery and issue management.
  • Deep expertise in leveraging internal communications, channels, and content to drive employee engagement and support business outcomes.
  • In-depth knowledge of best practices and emerging trends in the management of internal communications channels and platforms.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a strong journalistic ability to deliver high-quality, engaging content for diverse, global audiences in a variety of formats, including articles, video, and briefings.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects concurrently and deliver to agreed deadlines.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills, with a track record of working effectively across global, matrixed teams.
  • Proven ability to lead and coach high-performing global teams, including both direct and matrixed reports.
  • Ability to identify, manage, and mitigate risk arising from internal communications channels.

Estimated total compensation for this position:

121,000.00 - 135,000.00 USD per year

The total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on an applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data .
