Job Summary: Operates and maintains digital and analog electronics devices. Determine the best solutions to repairs and troubleshoots assemblies to the module level. Documents maintenance efforts. This position typically works under close supervision and direction.

Job Summary: The Field Services Technician 1 operates and maintains digital and analog electronic devices; identifies optimal repair solutions and troubleshoots assemblies to the module level. Accurately documents all maintenance activities. This position typically works under close supervision and direction.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist other Field Technicians with the setup, installation, operation, and servicing of equipment at field sites.

  • Interpret complex schematics, engineering drawing, wiring diagrams, work orders, maintenance and technical manuals.

  • Utilizes maintenance and repair manuals, test equipment, wiring diagrams, schematics, and electronic tools to test, rework, repair, troubleshoot and maintain equipment.

  • Interface professionally with customer agencies to ensure effective communication and service delivery.

  • Identify and analyzes equipment malfunctions, replace spares, troubleshoot faults after isolation and repair modules with component parts.

  • Use general purpose test equipment, hand tools and specialized tooling as required.

  • Use a variety of electronic measuring devices and test equipment.

  • Initializes and determine operational readiness of electronic devices.

  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities in accordance with contractual requirements.

  • Perform preventative maintenance as directed.

  • Build cable assemblies, printed circuit board (PCBs), and modify electrical prototypes and update documentation to reflect design changes or corrections.

  • Maintain a sound knowledge of Occupation Health &Safety and take an active part in safety issues as required.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in equipment maintenance and repair. Associate degree in Electronics or related technical field, or equivalent technical school training is preferred.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in the field.

  • Ability to follow verbal instructions to service and maintain equipment

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficient in interpreting technical documentation.

  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and working in challenging environments (e.g., crowded public stations, extreme temperatures, noisy areas, extended standing, and stair climbing).

  • Flexibility to work on-call, weekends, or holidays as needed.

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Cubic Pay Range:

$16.00 - $19.00 + benefits.

The Cubic pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
