Responsibilities

    Performs all staff pharmacist duties proficiently
  • Performs as an expert on the pharmacy technology system and how it is used for both routine and complex prescription processing
  • In coordination with the pharmacist in charge, manages department performance, productivity, purchasing, and task assignment to ensure complex operational activities are met in a timely and efficient manner
  • Provides training and mentorship to develop high functioning pharmacy teams
  • Dedicated to the overall pharmacy success by acting as a motivating and inspiring leader within the pharmacy
  • Performs in accordance with all policies and procedures for the safe procurement, storage, distribution and use of drugs
  • Obtains, as necessary, and maintains all required documentation in accordance with federal and state regulatory agencies and corporate compliance policy
  • Responds to pharmaceutical inquiries from customers and pharmacy staff, interpreting their needs and offering information and advice
  • Maintains patient database to include appropriate current and past medical history, appropriate clinical and laboratory data, and concurrent medications
  • Completes other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Degree in Pharmacy; Pharm D desired
  • Pharmacy experience; two or more years' experience in hospice and/or long-term care pharmacy
  • Knowledge of pharmacy laws and federal and state regulations concerning long-term care and/or hospice and pharmaceutical care practices for long-term care and/or hospice residents
  • Ability to use a computer is a plus
  • Current license in state of practice
  • Good organization and planning, detail/goal oriented, team player, customer service, oral communication skils
