Department Summary The UNT TRIO Programs house the following TRIO Programs: Upward Bound, Talent Search, and Student Support Services. All programs are funded through the U.S. Department of Education. We are a team of dedicated individuals who are working toward increasing the number of college-degreed people in our target areas. Position Overview This position is for a college prep advisor assistant. The position will require travel to various schools within the Gainesville and Denton school districts, serving as an assistant to each of the TRIO Advisors within those schools with the purpose of meeting Talent Search Objectives. The candidate will assist with workshop presentations, one-on-one college admission and financial aid assistance for high school students and will help with other tasks such as parent night, field trips, etc. The candidate will serve 6th-12th grade students assisting them with academic skill development and college/career exploration and choosing a course of postsecondary education. Minimum Qualifications High School diploma and some college work. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Experience in educating students with their educational goals. Preferred Qualifications Experience in educating students in the college prep and financial aid processes. Required License/Registration/Certifications Job Duties:
