Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, home to one of the nation's leading heart hospitals and the12th largest cardiac programs in the country, is seeking a dynamic and experiencedVice President of Operationsto lead and elevate performance across our procedural areas. This executive will have strategic and operational oversight ofcardiac procedural areas,operating rooms, andinterventional platforms, ensuring excellence in patient care, clinical outcomes, and operational efficiency.

Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for all procedural areas within the Heart Hospital, including cardiac ORs, hybrid ORs, cath labs, and electrophysiology suites. Collaborate with physician leaders, nursing, and administrative teams to drive performance, quality, and innovation.

Lead initiatives to optimize throughput, resource utilization, and patient experience in one of the nation's largest and most complex surgical environments. Ensure regulatory compliance, safety standards, and continuous improvement across all procedural operations.

Champion a culture of excellence, accountability, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications:

Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, or related field required.

Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in hospital operations, preferably in procedural or surgical services.

Proven track record of leading high-performing teams in complex, high-volume environments.

Strong understanding of cardiac care delivery, surgical workflows, and perioperative services.

Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and change management skills.

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, located in Norfolk, VA, is a 525-bed tertiary care facility that is home to the only Level I Adult Trauma Center and burn trauma unit in Hampton Roads, and also serves as the primary teaching hospital for Eastern Virginia Medical School.

In addition to the high-quality heart program at Sentara Heart Hospital, our facility is home to Nightingale Regional Air Ambulance and several other dedicated facilities and specialized services.
