Job Opening: Cable Technician - Ames, Des Moines & Surrounding States We are currently hiring Cable Technicians for multiple projects located in Ames, Des Moines, IA, and surrounding states. Travel is required, and per diem will be provided for out-of-town assignments. Candidates should have a minimum of 6 months of low voltage experience. Those with hands-on training or technical schooling in the field will also be considered. Technicians will be responsible for: * Installing data racks and cabinets * Running and terminating CAT6 and COAX cables * Installing faceplates, testing, and labeling cables * Setting up DirecTV cable boxes, modems, and satellite dishes in individual rooms * Assisting in the build-out of server closets for network infrastructure * Working both indoors and outdoors in school and apartment buildings * Occasionally performing trenching and directional drilling Technicians will receive direction from project leads and are expected to follow instructions closely while maintaining a high standard of work. Skills: * Installation of CAT5/CAT6 cables * Punch-down and cable termination * Wireless access point setup * Low voltage systems * Video and security system installation Top Skills: * CAT5/CAT6 installation * Punch-down * Wireless access points * Low voltage and video systems Additional Qualifications: * Reliable and hardworking * Strong attention to detail * Motivated to grow and advance in the field Experience Level: Intermediate Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
