The NASA-KSC Artemis Program requires a full-time operations engineer to support the operations oversight and programmatic operations for processing the Artemis II and beyond vehicles. The candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise in an oversight role when meeting requirements, including reviewing, and providing recommendation on products produced by other contractors and programs. The candidate will coordinate and evaluate operational concepts, documentation, and processing approaches; considering operability, resources, logistics, and timelines to meet EGS Program milestones. Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide recommendation for requirements development, allocation, management, test, and verification.
- Support and review Operations planning, analysis, and integration.
- Provide assessments of cost and schedule efficiencies and risk reductions.
- Provide inputs to budget planning forecasts of Operations over a multi-year period and phasing plan activities.
- Provide operational oversight and integration during test, verification and validation, and checkout and monitoring of activities associated with flight hardware, Ground support Equipment (GSE), and facility systems.
- Provide support to the NASA Flow Manager in the execution of flow management functions which include integration of flight systems, operational concepts, facilities, facility systems, and GSE.
Minimum Requirements:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Effective and clear communicator with the ability to present technical issues.
- Self-starter with outstanding organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work on-site at KSC 5 days/week.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preferably experience in launch vehicle, launch vehicle systems/subsystems, facility, test integration, and operations.
- Knowledge of Concept of Operations development, integration, and implementation.
- Proficiency in technical document review to include design drawings.
- Flexible to changing work demands, multi-task, operate with minimal direct supervision, and meet all customer deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment co-located with NASA, multiple cross program customers, and contractors.
- Proven work (mid-level) as a cohesive team member with many different technical experts in a dynamic schedule-driven environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Education and Relevant Work Experience:
- The Engineer 3 position requires a MS in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) required; preferably in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial/Systems Engineering, or Computer Engineering from an ABET accredited institution, and 10 years of relevant work experience.
- Familiarity and experience with NASA KSC EGS Artemis program and processes.
