JOB SUMMARY DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB

This position is responsible for providing technical support for Reliability Engineering group. Responsibilities include troubleshooting products, determine action items and resolving problems, evaluation of components, and processes, collection of data.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/RESULTS

Perform failure analyze/Troubleshooting to discover failure modes and mechanisms.





    • Use troubleshooting skills and laboratory equipment effectively to find the root-cause of the failures.




Ensure that hearing aids, hearing aid accessories, and their components perform to desired specifications.





    • Perform evaluation and reliability testing of hearing aids and their accessories, components and processes. Document results with written reports.




Perform failure analysis.





    • Follow work request to perform all failure analysis procedures & tests and report to Engineer any discrepancies.
    • Ensure work requests are clear and accurate.
    • Execute analysis in a timely manner.




Communicate Reliability issues to R&D groups.





    • Actively seek out R&D engineering to communicate results




Provide support.





    • Communicate product reliability issues to the engineer.




Product Support





    • Support launch white glove failure analysis with timely execution of new product failure analysis
    • Process Test Report Requests for timely completion.
    • Organize Quality Lab area for maximum workflow, including equipment storage.
    • Maintain storage system for retention of test report samples.




JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education



  • 2-year technical degree and/or 2 years' relevant work experience required.


Experience



  • Minimum 2 years' work experience, preferably with hearing aids or related technology.


Knowledge / Technical Requirements



  • Knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Strong mechanical aptitude


Competencies, Skills & Abilities



  • Excellent organizational/documentation skills required.
  • Excellent analytical skills required.
  • Ability to read schematics required.
  • Ability to follow written test plans independently.
  • Strong soldering skills desirable.
  • Good communication skills required.
  • Knowledge of electronics preferred.


    Equipment Operation



    • Computer and associated spreadsheet/word processing software
    • Microscope, RTA, Digital multi-meter, Wiring equipment, Soldering iron, Small hand tools, Environmental chambers, Cross sectioning equipment, Force Tester



    Salary and Other Compensation:

    The target pay rate for this position is between $19.25 - $27.56 per hour. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include: geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

    This position is eligible for a bonus based upon performance results. There is no guarantee of payout.
