Summary: The Human Resources Generalist provides comprehensive HR support for employees and pathologists. This stand-alone role is responsible for managing day-to-day HR operations, serving as the first point of contact for employees and supervisors, and partnering with external advisors and vendors on specialized needs. The HR Generalist will balance administrative tasks with strategic initiatives, ensuring compliance, supporting employee engagement, and contributing to a positive workplace culture. Duties and Responsibilities may include: Recruitment & Staffing * Partner with supervisors to coordinate the full cycle recruitment process, including job postings, applicant screening, interviews, and offers. * Facilitate onboarding and orientation to ensure a smooth new hire experience. * Maintain job descriptions and assist with workforce planning. Employee Relations & Support * Serve as the first line of support for employee questions regarding policies, procedures, and HR programs. * Provide guidance to supervisors on employee relations matters and performance management. * Promote a positive, respectful, and inclusive workplace culture. Benefits & Compensation * Act as the internal resource for benefits, working closely with outside advisors to support open enrollment, employee communications, and day-to-day benefit questions. * Assist with compensation practices by maintaining pay records, job classifications, and salary ranges. * Partner with accounting/payroll to ensure accuracy in HR and benefits data. Compliance & HR Administration * Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws (FMLA, PFML, ADA, EEO, HIPAA, etc.). * Maintain personnel files, HRIS records, and other required documentation. * Manage leave of absence and workers' compensation processes. * Draft and update HR policies and employee handbook as needed. Training, Engagement & Culture * Coordinate supervisor and employee training programs (compliance, safety, harassment prevention, etc.). * Assist with employee engagement initiatives and recognition activities. * Support internal communications that foster transparency and connection. Other Duties * Act as liaison with external vendors, advisors, and consultants as needed. * Provide HR reports, metrics, and insights to leadership. * Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law. * Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Education/Certifications * Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience. * At least two years related experience required. Preferred Qualifications * Master's degree in human resources, business, or related field. * 3-7 years Human Resource experience with increasing responsibility. * PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification * Development and implementation of structured training programs. Skills and Abilities * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. * Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. * Working understanding of human resource principles, practices and procedures. * Knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations. * Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. * Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. * Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. * Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Pay Range: $62,710.00 - $90,930.00 USD Annually (commensurate experience- the level hired depends on availability of level and proof of meeting certification/education requirements along with resume disclosing relevant experience.) The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Generally, new hire offers will be between the minimum and midpoint of the salary range, depending on experience (DOE), with the ability to grow within the range over time.
