DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Workforce Development & Training Intern, you will contribute to meaningful projects that foster employee growth, improve workplace learning experiences, and strengthen talent pipelines across the department. Key responsibilities include: Research & Content Development
- Support the creation and facilitation of intern professional development sessions
- Research onboarding best practices for on-the-job learning and help outline a structured framework
- Design a "Teambuilding Activities" tile for the department's intranet
- Update and enhance the development activities section of the learning library
- Research mentoring program models and assist in developing a framework for implementation
Recruitment
- Assist and attend career fairs and recruitment events
- Help post jobs on industry-specific recruiting platforms
- Support intern applicant screening and engagement
- Revamp the internships tile on the department's intranet
- Maintain communication with potential candidates and reconnect when relevant roles open
Instructional Design & Workplace Learning
- Learn video editing basics using Camtasia
- Assist in designing and developing employee learning sessions
- Gain experience with eLearning tools like Storyline360
- Learn adult learning principles for both web-based and instructor-led courses
- Serve as a producer for live virtual learning sessions
- Help set up classrooms for in-person training events
- Provide administrative support for assembling learning materials
- Learn to create pivot tables and analyze training metrics
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives
Career Development & Succession Planning
- Participate in career development and succession planning meetings
- Document key discussion points and contribute to follow-up actions
Employee Recognition
- Support the administration of the employee recognition program
- Research best practices for celebrating milestones, anniversaries, and birthdays
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Temporary, part-time, paid internship
- Work hours are flexible 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Communications, Organizational Development, Education, Psychology, or a related field
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Interest in workplace learning, instructional design, or talent development
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Camtasia or Storyline360 is a plus
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn
Additional Requirements:
- You must possess a valid driver's license.
- You must reside in Pennsylvania for the entirety of the internship.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
