Overview

As the Systems Verification Supervisor, your primary role is to lead a team of specialists who provide NASA with hardware and software requirements verification and operational expertise in support of NASA missions. The team provides support to the International Space Station (ISS), Orion, and Gateway Programs and will extend support to the Commercial Destinations in LEO (CLDP), Extravehicular Activity and Human Surface Mobility Program (EHP) Programs, and more.



Responsibilities

The Systems Verification Supervisor will:

    Conduct cross program integration activities to find best practices across all Human Spaceflight programs and implement them
  • Establish and implement short- and long-range organizational goals, objectives, and strategic plans by monitoring and evaluating programmatic, operational, and cost effectiveness
  • Track and report actual costs to allocated organizational budget and provides recommendations on how to decrease cost and increase performance output
  • Be required to analyze complex problems, interpret organizational needs, and develop integrated and innovative solutions to meet the needs of the Programs while increasing efficiency with day-to-day processes
  • Provide Project Management and leadership for projects within the team
  • Provide team growth, team building, personnel management, and mentoring for the organization
  • Provide paths for career growth and mentorship for team members
  • Perform mid-year employee evaluations and yearly performance appraisals to assesses employees' execution of planned products and services


Qualifications

Required Education/Experience/Skills:

  • BS/BA degree or higher in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or Management from an accredited Engineering school, college or university, plus five (5) or more years of professional experience in management, operations or systems integration
  • Progressive leadership roles & responsibilities demonstrated through experience base
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and target clear and concise message to the appropriate audience
  • Ability to resolve problems, interpret policies, and demonstrate solid knowledge of contract requirements, processes, and procedures to support both technical and administrative contract operation
  • Analytical, evaluative, and objective critical thinking skills
  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities
  • Candidate must be team oriented and effectively lead the team to success while ensuring team members are effectively utilized and career goals are managed
  • Attention to detail, initiative, and the ability to perform in a fast paced and dynamic environment is required
  • Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint and able to easily adapt to new tool sets

Preferred Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Previous experience in human spaceflight, preferably through the Human Spaceflight Technical Integration Contract (HSFTIC)
  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering in the areas including but not limited to:
    • Management of technical requirements
    • Assembly, Integration, and Test (AI&T)
    • Verification Closure
    • Mission Integration/Operations

Essential Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.

  • Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical.
  • Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required.
  • Must be able to work in a team atmosphere.
  • Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.
  • Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
  • This position may require some commuting and traveling to other installations as needed.
