Minimum Experience/Education |
High school diploma or equivalent, minimum of two years of customer service experience, strong attention to detail, and proficiency in Google Suite required. Reliable attendance and punctuality is a must to ensure timely opening of The Dubois Center. |
Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: |
- Customer Service Experience: 3-5 years preferred.
- Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrated ability to build rapport and work effectively with a diverse clientele, including high-profile individuals.
- Communication: Strong oral communication skills.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency with Google Suite (Gmail, Google Sheets, Google Docs, etc.).
- Organization: Excellent time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities |
The Client Services Representative will function as a member of The Dubois Center Operations team. Responsibilities will mainly include, but will not be limited to, the following:
- Lobby Reception Desk Coverage:Provide exceptional customer service by greeting and assisting all visitors to The Dubois Center, promptly responding to questions, addressing concerns, and troubleshooting issues to ensure a positive and efficient experience for guests, faculty, students, and staff.
- Respond to inquiries in person and by phone regarding The Dubois Center events, programs, departments, and available campus resources.
- Verify the identity of students, faculty, and staff by checking UNC Charlotte IDs, in accordance with university policies
- Assist clients with visitor check in procedures to ensure smooth and secure access.
- Provide information and assistance related to parking, mobile IDs, and The Dubois Center's operating policies and procedures.
- Communicate relevant information to building support teams as needed, including Facilities Management, Building and Environmental Services, Police and Public Safety, Classroom Support, and Catering.
- Support event preparation, including VIP parking and check-in tables.
- Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail and package deliveries efficiently and accurately.

Other Work/Responsibilities |
Other work responsibilities include delivering boxes and other packages received at the lobby desk to designated personnel throughout the building. This role serves as the public-facing representative of The Dubois Center, consistently demonstrating professionalism, courtesy, and exceptional customer service. The position requires maintaining a thorough understanding of the facility's standards and operating procedures to ensure a positive experience for all visitors. Flexibility is essential to adapt to changing lobby coverage needs and to perform additional duties as assigned in response to updates in The Dubois Center's policies and procedures. The lobby must be monitored continuously to ensure it remains clean, orderly, and visually welcoming, while staying alert to identify and report any maintenance issues or emergency situations to the appropriate staff. The role also includes assisting operations staff as needed, supporting visitor needs, and attentively checking IDs for all entrants to uphold safety and security protocols. |
