The Role The Industry Analyst - SLED provides vertical-specific research and insight focused on State, Local, and Education markets. This individual contributor, essential to developing our product management functionality where products are services, supports GTM verticalization and offering strategy by tracking funding trends, RFP themes, and SLED partner programs. As part of Presidio's vertical overlay structure, this role ensures service offerings align with unique SLED requirements including procurement processes, funding cycles, and compliance mandates. The analyst helps Presidio capitalize on SLED market opportunities while navigating complex regulatory and budgetary landscapes specific to public sector and education customers. Major Responsibilities:
- Conduct specialized research and monitor and analyze SLED funding sources including federal grants, state budgets, bond measures, and education technology initiatives.
- Track government RFP trends and procurement patterns to identify opportunity themes and solution requirements.
- Research SLED-specific technology mandates including cybersecurity requirements, data sovereignty, and accessibility standards.
- Support Partner Strategy with insights on government contract vehicles, partner certifications, and SLED-focused programs.
- Develop understanding of SLED buying processes including procurement regulations, evaluation criteria, and contract structures.
- Create SLED-specific value propositions addressing budget constraints, public accountability, and citizen service objectives.
- Analyze education technology trends including 1:1 initiatives, digital equity programs, and remote learning requirements.
- Support SLED pursuit teams with competitive intelligence, compliance documentation, and reference architectures.
- Build relationships with SLED technology associations, government IT leaders, and education technology councils.
- Monitor legislative and policy changes affecting SLED technology investments and priorities.
- Develop thought leadership on topics such as smart cities, digital government, and education transformation.
- Collaborate with field teams on SLED account planning and opportunity development.
- Track SLED contract awards and competitive wins to inform strategy adjustments.
- Coordinate with other industry analysts to leverage cross-vertical insights and best practices.
Technology/Area of Specialization:
- Deep knowledge of SLED technology landscape including government cloud adoption, education platforms, and public safety systems.
- Understanding of government procurement processes, contract vehicles (GSA, NASPO, etc.), and cooperative purchasing.
- Familiarity with SLED compliance requirements including CJIS, FERPA, StateRAMP, and accessibility standards.
- Knowledge of education technology ecosystem including LMS platforms, student information systems, and classroom technologies.
- Understanding of smart city initiatives, digital government services, and citizen engagement platforms.
- Experience with SLED funding mechanisms and budget cycles across different government levels.
Basic Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- SLED market expertise with understanding of government and education technology priorities.
- Strong research and analytical skills to track complex funding and policy landscapes.

- Required Skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in government technology, education technology, public sector consulting. Public Administration, Political Science, Education, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 4-6 years of experience in SLED market dynamics, procurement processes, and technology adoption patterns with 3-5 years as a Business Analyst on complex technology initiatives
- Deep knowledge and understanding of.
- Experience with government contracting, RFP responses, or public sector sales.
- Knowledge of SLED compliance requirements and security frameworks.
- Experience with business or technology consulting organization, with expertise in customer conversations and executive presence
- Strong presentation skills for executive and clinical audiences.
- Ability to translate public sector needs into technology solutions.
- Government contracting certifications or education technology credentials preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, SharePoint).
