Description

Milton Hershey School (MHS) is one of the world's best pre-K through 12th grade private schools, where over 2,000 students from disadvantaged backgrounds are provided with a cost-free home and a top-notch education. Thanks to the generosity of Milton and Catherine Hershey in 1909, the school is fully endowed today, with the resources to ensure students can thrive. These Centers include resources such as multiple barns with horses, cows, sheep, goats and rabbits, fields and orchards, and streams and woodlands. There are also a student run Project Market and a seasonal Ice Cream Center. In addition to the curriculum design, the CD collaboratively implements and facilitates programming with PreK through 12th grade faculty, designs and facilitates after-school and summer programming, facilitates internships and student work experiences, and collaboratively coordinates special events. The CD also networks with professionals and educators to maintain current knowledge, implement best practices and integrate external resources as appropriate. Contributing to the well-being of animals and maintaining engaging learning environments and landscapes are also components of the job.
