This is an interview position.

GENERAL SUMMARY
Remotely steers engineering support within a specific geographic regional assignment for FedEx FedEx Hub, Regional Sort Facility (RSF) Operations, Economy Hub, Non-Conveyable Processing Center (NCPC), Linehaul (LH) operations, Station operations, and Corporate to drive productivity and service, process improvements, system and technology enhancements.

Essential Functions

Assists with the evaluation of hub and station capacity through the development of plans to accommodate seasonal volume fluctuations along with yearly growth.

Collaborates with Service Assurance, Linehaul, Linehaul Engineering, and District Engineering to reduce dwell, implement direct loads to reduce cost and improve service.

Loads plan compliance, ensuring ISS matches corporate load plan.

Coordinates the regional, district and network engineering training for field engineering.

Advises district staff for all operations (Hub, RSF, IB, OB, P&D) across the region on continuous network or operational improvements and efficiencies using engineering principles and methods.

Reviews and develops action plans for regional service.

Administers technical guidance on justifications of material handling, computer system, or engineering issues and enhancements.

Coordinates new technology or software initiatives for the region.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math or related field required; In addition to Minimum Experience , high school degree or GED and four (4) years experience in Industrial Engineering or related area is accepted in lieu of degree.

Minimum Experience

Six (6) years' experience required in field industrial/design/project engineering (including Regional/District Field Engineering/Support roles internally).

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office software and web-based applications.

Working knowledge of Business Objects, SAS, Spotfire

Verbal and written communication skills necessary to explain complex and/or confidential information.

Presentation skills necessary to facilitate training and/or deliver informational sessions to groups and/or individuals.

Time management and organizational skills necessary to manage multiple projects, appropriately prioritize workload, plan for resources to meet deadlines and goals, and respond to day-to-day functional needs.

Ability to anticipate and identify problems and use sound judgment and fact-based analysis to develop effective and efficient solutions.

Ability to inspire a shared vision and empower and motivate a team.

Ability to travel up to 75%.

Knowledge of concepts related to Material Handling, Computer Aided Design, and Business Object preferred.

Ability to perform cost justification analysis.
