In the role of a Transportation Data Scientist, we'll count on you to:

  • Assist on traffic engineering projects, exercise sound engineering judgment, and
  • Perform data analysis tasks, including writing SQL queries for data aggregation and visualization
  • Develop dashboards summarizing a variety of data
  • Develop report documents detailing analysis methodology and outcomes
  • Participate in work sessions in conjunction with other staff
  • Coordinate workload through entire project development, and ensure completion of tasks on schedule and within budget
  • Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • EI preferred
  • Experience with cloud-based data analytics platforms, such as Google Big Query, Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure/Databricks
  • Experience with summarizing findings from analytical processes
  • Python, Pandas scripting
  • Tableau/Power BI
  • SQL Query writing/Database development
  • Process-oriented mindset
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, presentation skills and ability to work in a team environment

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems
  • A minimum of 5 years of systems analysis, applications development and support experience with business applications
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
