Summary:

The Manager of Group Exercise and Fitness Programs oversees the administration and management of more than 200 group exercise classes weekly across multiple UNC Health Wellness Centers. The role provides leadership, strategic financial and operational planning, and expertise to ensure high-quality customer service and innovative, age-appropriate group exercise classes, events, and activities for Rex Wellness Centers and UNC Wellness Centers. This position is key member of the UNC Health Wellness Centers Core Management Team and performs Manager on Duty responsibilities.

Results Driven: Exceeds departmental and organizational goals and customer expectations. Participates in decision-making to produce high-quality results by applying knowledge, analyzing problems, and calculating risks. Consistently conveys that customers are the highest priority. Understands the overall financial performance of the organization and department, applying economic concepts and practices to establish and maintain realistic budgets. Uses financial information to monitor budgetary responsibilities.

Develops internal policies and procedures for the group exercise program's daily operation, with safety and excellence of service as priorities.Supervise and assess the performance of the group exercise instructor staff.Analyze problems and recommend creative solutions, such as appropriate equipment and supplies, and establish vendor relationships.
Provides monthly financial and operations group exercise programs updates to the wellness centers leadership team.

Develop contacts and relationships with internal and external entities and agencies, providing innovative growth opportunities for the group exercise program.
Thorough knowledge of financial, organizational, and strategic objectives of UNC Health and other partner organizations to develop a three to five-year strategic plan with goals and growth projections to determine the needs of operation.Develop an annual operating budget based on one to five years' forecast needs.

Serves as the group exercise expert to a broad spectrum of stakeholders, including executive leaders, directors, managers, coordinators, and teammates, and is the primary contact with media, as related to wellness group exercise programs-related matters.

Develop strategies to share assets and materials with Rex Wellness Centers and UNC Wellness Centers.Thorough knowledge of local, regional, and national group exerciseorganizations and agencies' financial and operational trends, data, and information to provide recommendations for improvement.Provides indirect oversight of programs at Rex Wellness Centers.

Education Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree required.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
* Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider certification.
* Current nationally recognized group exercise certification, such as the American College of Sports Medicine, American Council on Exercise, and the Athletics and Fitness Association of America.
Professional Experience Requirements:
* Five (5) years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Requires at least one (1) year of leadership experience (lead, coordinator, supervisor, manager).
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
* Comprehensive knowledge and application of group exercise and fitness programming.
* Ability to organize and gather data, interpret results, and prepare reports.
* Competency with data analysis, word processing, and spreadsheet software.
* Ability and skill in effective interpersonal communications, in-person, verbal, written, and electronic formats.
* Ability to plan, organize, direct, motivate, mentor, and evaluate the work of teammates.
* Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
