Essential Functions
  • Responsible for validating loan fees and loan data required to issue an accurate Closing Disclosure to customers
  • Prepare loans for closing by ensuring all pertinent loan data is entered correctly in Encompass. Prepare and review closing document packages to ensure all required documents are generated and transmitted to settlement agents.
  • Responsible for ensuring loans have correct loan security documents, shipping documents, pro-rated taxes and/or assessments as needed per specific loan programs.
  • Review verify, organize and audit closing documents to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with company and regulatory guidelines. All documentation must contain no blanks, required signatures and dates.
  • Work and communicate professionally with external vendors and internal departments as to required documentation or corrections to documentation for completion before funding of the loan. This requires a proactive stance in pursuing said documents from within the company, third parties and borrowers.
  • Review final funding conditions provided to determine requirements are met and either sign off or recondition, if not satisfactory. Obtain all outstanding conditions to ensure timely funding and closing of the loan.
  • Perform various administrative duties as assigned. May provide notary public service. Responsible for auditing files or Compliance with TRID-RESPA (TRID) requirements.
  • Responsible for complying with policies, procedures, security requirements, and government regulations. Stay current with Federal Regulation Compliance initiatives and recommend action to management when appropriate.
Education
  • High School Diploma/G.E.D. (Required)
Work Experience
  • 2 or more years of experience in mortgage closing or funding and experience with FHA and VA loans (Required)
Skills & Knowledge
  • Knowledge of all forms and documents for loan closing.
  • Possess good organizational, problem solving, written and verbal communication, and customer service skills with the ability to work within defined timeframes and make deadlines.
  • Proficient in MS Office products with the ability to learn new software applications. Knowledge of general business processes and elementary accounting principals.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations relating to real estate lending.
  • Possess knowledge and understanding of TRID regulations and mortgage loan closing procedures. Experience in reviewing itemization of all fees associated with loan closings.
  • Possess strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to exercise good judgement, accept responsibility and handle confidential information in a secure manner.
