The Salvation Army Mission Statement: The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. BASIC PURPOSE Drives truck, van, or automobile over established route to deliver and collect food, toys and supplies/inner-office mail to assist the Salvation Army Chico Corps with Christmas efforts. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides assistance with dropping off and picking up kettles at assigned locations.
- Assists with delivering and collecting toy and food barrels for seasonal drives.
- Provides assistance with pickups and deliveries related to Christmas programs and other special events.
- Helps with loading and unloading food, toys, and other donated items from trucks or storage areas.
- Cleans and maintains the inside of the truck.
- Inspects the vehicle regularly and reports any maintenance or repair needs to the supervisor.
- Maintains an organized, safe, and clean work environment.
- Adheres to all Salvation Army policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Attends meetings and trainings as required by The Salvation Army.
- Acts as a positive role model within and outside the agency.
- Maintains a positive and respectful attitude toward coworkers, volunteers, and community partners.
- Communicates regularly with the supervisor regarding property, vehicle, or program-related issues.
- Consistently reports to work on time, prepared to perform the duties of the position.
- Performs other related duties as assigned to support the mission and programs of The Salvation Army.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to work independently and without daily immediate supervision
- Ability to work in a team environment, and multi-task required duties.
- Must be prepared to encounter a variety of assignments and timelines.
- Be able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive materials and information.
- Must possess an open, welcoming and helpful presence and attitude with all people.
- Ability to learn modern office procedures and equipment.
- Knowledge of The Salvation Army practices, policies and organizational resources.
- Must be punctual, organized, reliable, honest and responsible .
- Must possess a valid California Class C Driver License, and ability to drive a Salvation Army vehicle
- Must be 21 years or older.
- Complete The Salvation Army vehicle course training.
- Must pass annual Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis
- Ability to grasp, push, and/or pull objects
- Ability to reach overhead
- Ability to lift up to 50-70 lbs. for positions that require lifting
- Ability to process written, visual, and/or verbal information
