Pay

Salaried grade 6
Pay range $63,623 to $71,856 / year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Plus 8 % shift premium for 3rd shift

Actual salaries may vary and in some cases may be higher with extensive experience and strong performance.

Job Summary

The Transportation Operations Supervisor plays a key role in supporting long-haul driver operations during second shift. This position is responsible for leading approximately 45 long-haul drivers by providing operational oversight, effective communication, and leadership in alignment with McKee Foods' values and safety standards.

This role ensures smooth handoffs across shifts, supports issue resolution during second shift hours, and serves as a key point of contact for drivers, customers, and cross-functional teams.

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to long-haul drivers to ensure safe, efficient, and professional operations
  • Oversee dispatch operations and supervise drivers during the shift, ensuring compliance with DOT and company safety policies
  • Act as a key contact for resolving any issues that arise during the shift, coordinating with Maintenance, Logistics, Safety, and other departments as needed
  • Support accurate recordkeeping and documentation related to operations, communication, and driver interaction
  • Reinforce McKee policies and ensure drivers meet standards for safety, customer service, and professionalism
  • Maintain a strong presence on-site to support both proactive and reactive operational needs

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with at least 3-4 years of experience in a related transportation or operations role
  • Proven supervisory and leadership skills with experience managing or supporting frontline staff
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to coach and support employees of varied backgrounds
  • Working knowledge of DOT rules and regulations
  • Ability to remain calm in high-stress situations and respond quickly to operational disruptions
  • Detail-oriented with strong communication and documentation skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word)
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as needed to support the operation
  • Demonstrated commitment to personal safety, team safety, and regulatory compliance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Professional in Supply Chain (CPSM) certificate
  • Previous experience in a transportation supervisory role at McKee Foods or similar environment
  • Familiarity with McKee systems including Workday, MyDispatch, PRPD, and XRS
  • Experience in McKee Foods long-haul delivery operations or dispatch
