We are seeking a dynamic Nurse Manager to lead our Labor and Delivery (L&D) Unit at Johns Hopkins Sibley Memorial Hospital. Recognized as a premier Hospital for patients to deliver, Sibley delivers more than 4,000 babies each year - the most births in Washington, D.C. Our state-of-the-art L&D unit was designed from the ground up to offer comprehensive care that combines exceptional comfort and amenities with the latest medical technology. Sibley's Maternal-Fetal Medicine Program provides specialized expertise in managing high-risk pregnancies. Program experts use sophisticated technology and testing to diagnose, monitor and consult for complex conditions and complications that can arise during pregnancy. They also offer comprehensive genetic consultation, screening, testing and interpretation of results.

What You Will Do:

As the Manager of Nursing for Labor & Delivery, you'll lead a large, multidisciplinary team within one of the world's premier, integrated health systems. You will ensure an exceptional birthing experience that has been trusted by parents-to-be for generations. You will provide leadership and direction in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment, fostering a culture of collaboration, safety, and excellence in patient care. The L&D unit has the strong support of a Clinical Coordinator, Patient Safety Nurse and Team Leads.

Sibley Memorial Hospital is a non-profit, full service 318 bed acute care community hospital serving the Washington, DC area. Sibley offers medical, surgical, intensive care, obstetric, oncology, orthopaedic, skilled nursing inpatient services, and a state-of-the-art 24-hour Emergency Department. Sibley's campus, with its new patient tower, is also home to the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center, the Johns Hopkins National Proton Therapy Center, Grand Oaks -- an assisted living residence -- a medical building with physician offices and an ambulatory surgery and imaging center.

Who Should Apply:



  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required; Master's degree preferred.
  • At least three (3) years of RN experience in Labor and Delivery required; five (5) years preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of leadership experience in Labor and Delivery. Proven leadership in a fast-paced, high-volume, high-acuity L&D setting strongly preferred.
  • Experience in a Magnet-designated facility preferred.
  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the District of Columbia required.
  • Current CPR Certification required.

Salary Range: Minimum 61.47/hour - Maximum 95.27/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
