   Construction Superintendent  Riverdale MD Pay From: $41 per hour MUST: Experienced Construction Superintendent 3-20+ years of experience in the industry Track record for delivering complex projects with minimal delays and emphasis on customer delight. Proven ability to implement and maintain full control of all field matters while managing the safety and quality on site. Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline, Engineering Technology or Construction Management, Construction Technology. Basic knowledge of construction principles Knowledge of basic business principles sufficient to project and monitor expenses. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel. Ability to read and understand technical specifications, blueprints, technical manuals, product/material installation instructions and engineering/architectural drawings. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. DUTIES: Construction Superintendent oversees daily operations on a construction site, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to specifications. Key responsibilities include managing schedules, coordinating subcontractors, enforcing safety, and serving as a liaison between project managers, clients, and workers. Responsible for quality control and problem-solving Technical and digital skills: Increasingly need to be familiar with technology like scheduling and site reporting software, though the core skills remain rooted in construction knowledge. Attention to detail: Regularly review project plans and schedules, and conduct site walks to anticipate and prevent potential problems. Leadership: Motivate and manage a team of workers and subcontractors to achieve project goals. Negotiation: Interact with and negotiate with third parties, such as suppliers. Project execution: Manage the day-to-day activities on site to ensure a project stays on schedule and within budget. Subcontractor coordination: Oversee and schedule the work of various subcontractors to ensure they are working together efficiently. Safety and quality control: Enforce safety regulations to protect workers and ensure the quality of the work meets the required standards. Act as the main point of contact on the job site, communicating with project managers, clients, and workers.
