 Job Description  
Summary 
     
     Support the engineering department's strategies and objectives for the year through collaboration with engineering department personnel on assigned projects. Key project will be short duration in line with one department OKR. 
     
     
     
     Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
     
     
       
      - Gain process understanding: develop a strong understanding of Dunmore's manufacturing processes by shadowing engineering team members, observing equipment operation, and engaging directly with production personnel on the floor. 
 
       
      
       
      - Support IoT and automation initiatives: participate in the design, implementation, and optimization of IoT-enabled monitoring systems and automation solutions for production equipment, with focus on improving efficiency, data visibility, and predictive maintenance. 
 
       
      
       
      - Contribute to equipment obsolescence projects: assist in assessing legacy systems, identifying components nearing end-of-life, and supporting planning and execution of upgrade or replacement strategies to ensure long-term equipment reliability and compliance. 
 
       
      
       
      - Develop and execute project plans: create project scopes and timelines for assigned initiatives, conduct research on new technologies, coordinate with cross-functional partners, and present recommendations for engineering and process improvements. 
 
       
      
       
      - Collaborate and communicate effectively: work collaboratively within the engineering and operations teams to ensure alignment on project goals, and provide regular progress updates during weekly check-ins or technical reviews. 
 
       
      
       
      - Documentation and continuous improvement: maintain thorough documentation of designs, testing procedures, and project results, and contribute to standardization and knowledge sharing within the department. 
 
       
      
       
      - Other duties as assigned: support additional engineering initiatives and plant improvement projects as needed.

     Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:  
     
     
       
      - Demonstrated ability to execute technical projects from concept through completion, including planning, data collection, analysis, and presentation of results in clear, well-organized reports. 
 
       
      
       
      - Experience using or willingness to learn statistical software packages (e.g., Minitab, JMP, or Excel-based tools) to analyze process data, perform capability studies, or support root cause investigations. 
 
       
      
       
      - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to apply engineering principles to practical manufacturing challenges. 
 
       
      
       
      - Effective communication and collaboration skills to work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams. 
 
       
      
       
      - Curiosity and initiative to research new technologies, automation solutions, and IoT applications relevant to manufacturing process improvement. 
 
       
      
     
     
     
     Education and Experience 
     
     
     
     
       
      - Working toward a Bachelor's Degree in one of the following engineering disciplines: chemical, electrical, mechanical, industrial, or related engineering degree. 
 
       
      
       
      - Core coursework in the chosen discipline must be completed, including foundational classes in materials, thermodynamics, controls, process design, or systems engineering.

      - Lifting Requirements: 25 pounds  
 
       
      
       
      - Travel by air, rail, auto (5 % of time) 
 
       
      
       
      - Work in manufacturing area, QA lab and office areas
