Operational Responsibilities



  • Accurately produces all monthly and quarterly financial reports on a timely basis.
  • Oversees monthly GL reconciliations and assures that outstanding items clear in a timely matter.
  • Reviews and approves Accounts Payable batches.
  • Assists in preparing the quarterly Call Report.
  • Maintains subsidiary company records.
  • Oversees fixed asset process and recommendations on changes to estimated lives of fixed assets.
  • Assists with activities with independent audit firm and internal audit to ensure accurate information is provided on time for audits.
  • Recommends, designs, and implements department controls, procedures, efficiencies and process improvements as needed.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of accounting principles, standards, regulations, laws and practices.
  • Must comply and ensure that staff comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to: OSHA, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
  • Maintain and safe keep all applicable security information, user names, password, security devices, tokens, etc. Protect all confidential member information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and be available to work additional hours as necessary to accomplish objectives, goals, and projects.

  • Provide leadership, direction, guidance, and coaching, performance evaluations, training, motivation, and discipline to all direct reports so that they are able to meet and exceed the Credit Union's service standards, achieve performance goals and provide superior member service.
  • Assist in developing objectives for direct reports consistent with strategic and operating plans, monitor progress toward achievement of objectives, and engage in a regular dialogue with direct reports on progress toward objectives.
  • In consultation with Human Resources promote, transfer, dismiss or change the status of employees.
  • Ensure that all direct reports understand the overall company objectives as well as their individual and team objectives and that they work together to achieve the stated objectives. Be available to help resolve conflicting objectives. Reinforce continuously respectful communication between all departments.
  • Emphasize and promote professional and ethical conduct.
  • Fosters a positive culture throughout the organization. Promotes respect and harmonious relations among accounting staff and with departments throughout the organization.
  • Ensures positive relationships with the branches, internal departments and external partners.
  • Directs employee training to improve efficiency and ensure conformance with standard procedures and practices.
