As a globally integrated diagnostics and software company, information technology and data are at the core of nearly everything we do across the IDEXX enterprise. The IDEXX Chief Digital & Information Officer (CDIO) is a senior executive leadership role that combines responsibility for core Enterprise Information Technology functions with execution of Enterprise Digital Optimization and Transformation strategies. The CDIO will partner and collaborate deeply across the company to develop and execute a holistic digital vision for IDEXX to further accelerate customer experience, innovation, employee productivity, and business growth through the strategic use of data, AI and integrated digital platforms, globally. This Senior Vice President position is located at our World Headquarters in Westbrook, Maine. As a key leader on the IDEXX Executive Leadership Team, the CDIO will help to shape the future of IDEXX.

The successful candidate will balance long-term strategic vision with the ability to drive precision execution in a highly collaborative way across a complex global information technology and data ecosystem. The CDIO will lead a global team of 500 people and must possess demonstrated success operating at scale in a fast-paced, complex, and highly matrixed organization.

Core Responsibilities:

Enterprise Information Technology Leadership

  • Lead and optimize world-class core Enterprise Information Technology ecosystem, infrastructure, architecture, data, cloud, systems, and platforms to drive system health, security, customer experience, employee productivity, and operational efficiencies

  • Thereby enabling the foundation for successful "next-level" execution of Enterprise Digital Optimization and Transformation strategies and roadmaps

Digital Optimization and Transformation Execution

  • Partner and collaborate across the company to develop and execute a holistic digital vision that accelerates customer experience, innovation, employee productivity, and business growth through strategic use of data, AI, and integrated digital platforms, globally

  • Leverage advanced digital tools and technologies, data and analytics, and AI to enable a highly integrated omnichannel customer experience

  • Enable customer self-service and self-healing capabilities, optimized customer workflows, and deploy platforms that enable seamless and integrated customer experiences

  • Drive automation, AI, and collaboration tools to improve internal employee experience, engagement, and productivity

  • Guide IDEXX through digital transformation, changing organizational culture, processes, and employee skills to adapt to the evolving digital landscape in close collaboration IDEXX Executive Leadership Team

Enterprise Innovation Enablement

  • Partner with cross-functional executive leaders of Product, Services, Commercial Software, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, R&D, Finance, and Human Resources to enable external and internal innovations

  • Collaborate on ecosystem integration and standardization to ensure seamless connectivity between hardware, software, consumables, and services, globally

  • Support connected customer ecosystem, global laboratory network, worldwide operations, R&D, and development of highly innovative new IDEXX products, software, and services

  • Collaborate and deliver key inflight innovation initiatives, including global lab information management ecosystem (LIMS), launch of new point-of-care instruments, commercial software, and rollout of novel diagnostic tests and services

  • Identify and implement new digital technologies, leveraging AI, cloud computing, and automation to drive innovation, operational efficiency, and create new business opportunities

Data Engineering & Data Governance

  • Continue to drive evolved data management practices to collect, analyze, govern, and leverage data across the organization to enable enhanced customer experience, personalization of services, and informed decision-making

  • Support data and analytics as a core asset of IDEXX that enables business growth and innovation

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner deeply with cross-functional executive leaders of Product, Services, Commercial Software, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, R&D, Finance, and Human Resources to enable and ensure digital initiatives are aligned with business needs and seamlessly integrated across the enterprise

What you will need to succeed:

Enterprise Information Technology Leadership

  • Strategic and hands-on technology leader with deep experience driving scalable and global enterprise information technology solutions that enable accelerated business growth and differentiation

  • Proven record of consistently delivering results through precision execution and collaboration

Digital Optimization and Transformation

  • Possesses a general management and commercial mindset and has experience leading the vision, strategy, and roadmap for digital optimization and transformation initiatives that enable business growth, drive operational efficiencies across product, software, and services, and create an integrated customer experience across complex integrated global ecosystems

  • Experience driving digital technology, enabling innovation, and implementing data, AI, and emerging technologies at scale

Business Collaboration and Partnership

  • Proven track record building exceptionally strong consultative relationships and partnering with cross-functional business leaders to drive organizational alignment, enable enterprise prioritization, deliver consistent global results, and turn challenges into opportunities

  • Highly credible and effective communicator able to consult with peers across the organization to drive change through strong partnership relationships, influence, and persuasion

Business Complexity and Global Experience

  • Demonstrated experience operating in a fast-paced, global, complex, highly matrixed organization

  • Experience in healthcare and life sciences is a plus but not required
