Job Overview

Repair and maintain electrical equipment and systems in a hospital setting such as but not limited to emergency generators, automatic transfer switches, motors, variable frequency drives, ATO, electrical distribution switchgear, transformers, lighting, UPS's batteries etc.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • POPULATION SPECIFIC CARE
    * No direct patient care.
  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
    * Installs and repairs all electrical components and systems in an efficient and timely manner, including electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes. Receives and completes work orders in a timely manner and maintains an accurate and up to date record of all work completed.
    * Performs preventative maintenance on a wide array of electrical equipment.
    * Provides diagnoses of malfunctioning systems, locates the cause of malfunction and takes corrective action.
    * Tests electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
    * Repairs and maintains motor control centers and programmable logic controls (1000 volt and below).
    * Works with multiple contractors to ensure that services are completed on time and per proposed contract.
    * Provides input on construction related projects designs to meet CHCO specifications.
    * Reads and updates electrical panel schedules.
    * Uses a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment, such as oscilloscopes, ammeters, or test lamps.
    * Maintains state of readiness in order to help the hospital achieve accreditation from Joint Commission and other regulatory agencies.

Minimum Qualifications

* EDUCATION - High School diploma or equivalent.
* EXPERIENCE -Five years electrical experience in a healthcare, commercial or industrial setting.
* EQUIVALENCY - A four-year apprenticeship will substitute for the two year electrical trade school certification.
* CERTIFICATION(S): Two years electrical trade school certification.
* LICENSURE -State of Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) Journeyman or Master Electrician license required within 90 days of hire.

Salary Information
Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.

Hourly Range: $28.33 to $42.50
