Inspector III - Temporary

Job Summary

Provides support to the Quality Inspection Department/Fabrication and performs routine to advanced clerical, filing, and inspection duties. This person will assist with the day-to-day inspection tasks and additional engineering requests where necessary. Will assist with the training of lower-level personnel to increase the knowledge base across the department. Additional inspection requirements may be added to assist additional departments.

Primary Responsibilities

* Inspects complex manufactured parts for conformance to print and specification requirements.

* Performs visual, dimensional, mechanical, and optical inspections per instructions.

* Uses basic to complex inspection measurement equipment including CMM, microscopes, optical comparators, and coordinate measurement equipment to set up and verify dimensions and geometric tolerances for compliance.

* Works from engineering drawings, internal and external specifications, quality assurance standards, test procedures, and verbal instructions to determine acceptance of product.

* Participates in continuous improvement teams.

* Assist in supporting customer onsite audits.

* Maintain the highest ethical and quality standards, even when challenged from above.

* Uses computers to document quality records, first article and dimensional reports, and job status, including the scanning and filing of records." for subject-verb agreement..

* May assist with lean initiatives and participate where required.

* Understand and live by Company's ethics and business conduct policies

Qualifications/Experience

* Requires a minimum of five years of mechanical inspection experience.

* Two year technical degree or Certified Mechanical Inspector (CMI) preferred.

* Certified Green Belt (CSSGB) or Quality Inspector (CQI) a plus.

* Excellent communication skills.

* Attention to detail and very organized.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications or equivalent.

* Must be able to communicate and understand instructions in English.

* Ability to work effectively and independently with minimal instruction.

* Knowledge of shop mathematics, blue print reading, geometric tolerances, and SPC.

* Demonstrated ability to use basic and advanced inspection measuring equipment.

* Ability to use all types of inspection tools and equipment. Job Summary
