- 5+ years professional experience in communications, content creation, or related field.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills.

- Strong understanding of audience segmentation and comprehensive communication practices.
- Demonstrated familiarity with a range of communications principles including messaging, writing, editing, graphic design, visual communications, branding, marketing, advertising, electronic communications, social media, and generative AI tools.
- Ability to communicate technical content to a general audience and a variety of stakeholders.
- Experience working with business/industry, alumni engagement, and development initiatives.
- Experience in a higher education, independent school, or nonprofit environment.
- Strong skills using technology in the workplace, familiarity with content management systems and email platforms; social media competencies.
- Significant prior communications experience writing and producing publications and developing and placing stories.

| Position Summary |
The Communications and Content Manager is a creative and strategic leader responsible for shaping and sharing the story of the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences. This role centers on executing a dynamic content strategy that communicates the College's mission, academic excellence, and community impact to a wide range of external and internal audiences, including academic peers, prospective and current students and parents, faculty, alumni, donors, and the broader public, including local, state and federal government entities.
With a strong emphasis on content creation, the manager produces compelling written, visual, and multimedia materials that highlight the College's exceptional and diverse programs, research, scholarship and creative output, and its people including alumni, students, faculty and staff.
The role requires a deep understanding of how to tailor messaging across channels and audiences, ensuring clarity, relevance, engagement and broad appeal.
Collaboration is central to this position. The manager works closely with academic departments; faculty; university partners; student groups; Franklin development and alumni relations; student academic services;
UGA government relations; and central marketing and communications. This individual serves as a strategic partner and creative resource, helping stakeholders across the college articulate their expertise and goals and translate them into effective communications. |
